Chereads / Unwanted Prince: Love Is An Enchanted Seduction / Chapter 4 - The general is my wife

Chapter 4 - The general is my wife

Kalix Noah's POV

I noticed the faces that my brothers expressed. They are surprised because they believe that Lady Kassandra is a fat woman.

They believe that her armor is the reason she looks fat. My parents had sent several sizes of wedding gowns with the same look.

Last night, they were surprised that the smallest size was the one that the vice general took and sent the rest back here in the palace.

She shows her exceptional sword skills by cutting her long gown. My mother was a bit annoyed at first but was mesmerized by how beautiful the dress looked, even if she cut two meters of it.

"Let the ceremony begin!" Our royal father stated. The head of the church stood in front of us. My parents and siblings take their seats.

"We are all gathered here today to witness the wedding of our dear prince and the grand duke of the Moon Aires Kingdom, Kalix Noah El Greco, and his beloved and beautiful partner, Lady Kassandra Escalante," he says.

I heard my younger sister's soft chuckles when the head of the church said the word beautiful. Her thick veil was hiding her looks, but we all know what she really looks like.

They even labeled her as a woman who has the face of a man. My older brothers even laughed at me and said that we shouldn't have princesses as offspring.

No one will marry them off. "Prince Kalix Noah, do you take Lady Kassandra Escalante as your lawful wedded wife?"

"Yes, I do," I simply replied.

"Lady Kassandra Escalante, do you take Prince Kalix Noah as your lawful wedded husband?" he asks. He suddenly looks at our hands.

I have no choice. I held her hand. Wait a second… Her hands are not rough or have calluses. It was actually soft.

"Yes, I do," she replied. How come it was soft?

"Repeat after me, okay?" Mom says.

"I, Kalix Noah El Greco, will pledge my loyalty and love. Through thick and thin, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part," I repeated.

She flipped our hands and held mine. "I, Kassandra Escalante, will pledge my faithfulness, love, and trust. Through thick and thin, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part," she repeated.

My mother and father stood up. My dad opens the ring that I will put on my wife's finger. I grabbed the ring and held her hand. I notice the ring on her right hand. It was placed on her index finger.

"You may now recite your vows. You may speak first, your Highness," the head of the church says. I gulp.

"Wear this ring as a sign of my love and devotion. I'll be your husband that protects and take care of your welfare. I promise to shed your tears when your lonely. I'll be faithful for you for the rest of my life..." I whispered under my breath.

I put the ring on Kassandra's left hand. Mother opens the other box. She held my left hand and look at me intently. Lady Kassandra smiled sincerely.

"This ring is the symbol of my eternal promise. I'll forever be faithful, devoted, and love you for the rest of my life. I accept you for who you are and never detest you. I'll you show you the beauty of being unlucky. I'll be your home from now on. Take my words as a lifetime commitment... your majesty."

She puts the ring in my finger, looking at it with a smile. Mom and Dad look at us intently while wearing sweet smile on their lips.

The head of the church continued the ceremony. "By the power that was given by the kingdom, I now pronounce you husband and wife," Dad declares.

I can't stop this ceremony anymore. I will be marrying this woman even if I'm in love with someone else.

"You may now kiss your bride, my dear son," Dad added. I tried not to show any emotions. I held her veil and went with the flow.

I lifted it off, and my eyes dilated because of the face on which I was gazing right now. "Kissss!" her soldiers scream.

She turns around and faces the crowd. "Shh!" she says.

She even places her hand on her lips. She bowed her head to my family and then to me. "I apologize for my soldier's upfront attitude," Kassandra whispered.

I grab the veil behind her head. I take off, and her long blonde hair falls down after her bun is destroyed. The edge of her hair had a soft curl.

The people in the hall were surprised and gasped because of her beauty. She's far from her looks from the other day!

"No! This is impossible! I think that woman sent another girl as her proxy! Father, you must do something! She's not the general we met last time!" Princess Ava roars.

She might be a 17-year-old lady, but she's known for her last-born syndrome, where everything she wants, she gets.

Her vice general speaks. "Can I speak your majesty?"

My dad raises his hand and looks at my younger sister. Ava takes her seat, sulking. "We will never deceive the royal family. General Kassandra was born with blonde hair. The looks that everyone saw last time were to deceive the enemies and protect herself from their sexual desire."

Kassandra covers her eyes with her palm. "The crown prince of our enemy kingdom was known for collecting exceptional concubines. He already saw General's true face and he's now obsessed with her. She change her looks for her safety, your majesty," Lady Arida added.

My wife turns around and leaves me on the altar. She gave the bouquet of flowers to her soldier.

"You better be the next bride," she asserts threateningly.

Her vice-general gulps while looking into Kassandra's eyes. She must realize that her general was damn mad. She bows her head and steps back around ten paces.

That's how scared she is. Kassandra sighed. She went back in front of me and grabbed the veil in my hand.

She rips a long piece of hair and ties it, then uses it to tie it. It was a messy bun, yet it made her more stunning. The citizens bow their heads and show their respect for us.

"All hail to Prince Kalix Noah and Lady Kassandra!" they said.

"All hail to our new master!" the soldiers scream.

The kiss didn't move forward, for which I'm thankful. My mother approaches us and holds Kassandra's hand. She smiled and embraced her. Mom raises her head and meets my eyes.

"Please… don't run away from my son. If you've learned something, don't leave his side. I am entrusting my beloved son to you, General Escalante…" she whispered.

Her voice is just loud enough for me and Kassandra. My wife embraced my mother. "I heard you, your highness."

"Now that the ceremony is over, we're inviting everyone to dance and have fun! The food will be enough for all of us!" Father declares.

The hall became busy as the servants started to set up the tables and the food. It takes it for a while.

I look around and try to find a certain person. I saw her, but before I could even approach her, my older brother stood in front of me.

"What are you doing, 7th prince?" he asserted firmly. His gaze was giving me a dangerous warning. Prince Lukas, the 5th prince, was my love rival.
