Lukas's POV
Lilibeth, tears fell on her cheeks. I was stunned and snapped my senses back. I scoop her up and embrace her.
What am I doing? Instead of explaining my side and convincing Lilibeth, I choose to push her on this side. How stupid!
'What are you afraid of, Lukas? What is wrong with me? I feel like I don't want to let Lilibeth go. Damn it!'
"I'm sorry, Lilibeth. I didn't mean to scare you," I mumble under my breath.
I held her face and looked at her in the eyes. "I'm afraid that time passed and your day of running away has come. What are you even thinking!?" I ask.
She looks down again. I shed her tears. "Lukas, don't fool yourself. What you feel right now is nothing but a sense of protection. You're a prince, and it's your nature to want to protect your people. This ring means empathy," she says.
