Kassandra's POV
I was surprised to see him on the biggest balcony that is connected to the hallway. He was holding a glass of red wine.
"Can I speak with you about something, Your Majesty?" I ask.
I hope this is the right time to ask about his job as a Navy officer and talk about Joseph's suggestion. This is for the kingdom's and its people's safety.
I know he will listen to me when it comes to this matter. I jumped off the porch and stood straight.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Prince Noah roars.
I was unbothered when the cold wind brushed my skin. "Step back on that side, your majesty. I will jump from here and land where you are," I remarked.
He glares at me. "What are you, a lunatic? Use your fucking door!" the prince roared.
I didn't listen to him. I get ready and jump on the unexpected moment for him. I rolled over, and I used my hand to stop my body from moving.
I stood up and faced him. The distance between the two balconies was just a meter. It's not that far.
I've been jumping in place, and this one is nothing compared to them. I faced him, grabbed the glass of wine in his hand, and drank all of it.
"You have a wound, idiot!" he roars.
I feel like my ears pop because of how loud his voice is. I pressed my wound. It hurts, but it won't bleed like the last time.
"It doesn't hurt," I lied. He looks at me with a pissed-out expression. I lean my back on the wall.
"Where's the bottle?" I ask, shaking the glass of wine.
"I only drink a glass of it when I'm tired. It will be easy to fall asleep after," he replied. I step closer and meet his gaze.
"I never thought you'd have a hard time falling asleep, Your Majesty. I can help you with that if you want. I learned this from my late mother," I offered. I finally noticed how tired his eyes were. He even has dark circles.
"What recommendation do you have then?" Prince Noah asks.
"Well, she taught me how to massage a person who has trouble sleeping. I always do that to my grandmother and grandfather, and it's truly helpful and effective."
He blinks twice before he averts his gaze in another direction. I lean on the wall next to him. "The smell of the sea breeze is refreshing. It's still fresh, even if it's a bit salty. On the borderlands, it can be the smell of trees, dust, grasses, and... blood," I stated.
I didn't turn around and see his reaction. "You didn't tell me, Your Majesty, that you're the famous admiral of our kingdom's navy force."
I have to open up now and see if he will agree to collaborate with my army. "I am. That's why my third and fourth big brothers loathe me to death. They're both lieutenants and captains of the Navy force. My second brother was the general of the royal family's army."
I better add those things to my board. I have to analyze if I can help these siblings hold each other's hand in protecting this kingdom instead of being envious of each other, which is absurd to me.
"How about your fifth brother? What kind of position does he have in this kingdom?"
I am interested in Prince Lukas position in our kingdom. After what I heard between him and Lady Leticia, I became serious about keeping an eye on the two of them. The other six siblings were all dukes of this nation.
"My brother was the head of the royal knights, who are responsible for guarding the royal palace and being the guards of different buildings and important noble people."
I nodded. I really have to run a background check on his siblings. I need to be careful, or else I'll make the rift even bigger, and I don't want that to happen.
"Arida's father, my lieutenant, suggested something to which I agreed. I was planning to ask who the admiral of the navy force is, but I didn't know that I married him," I opened up. I gathered all my courage and made sure he would agree to my condition.
"What are you trying to say? I hate people who are beating around the bushes, Kassandra," he remarks.
Prince Kalix's voice was baritone, sexy, and firm. "We want to cooperate with the Navy forces. In the borderlands, my soldiers will make sure that spies or enemies won't be able to break through our defense," I paused. I decided to face him.
"The next place they will try to use is this port, which is connected to the southern region of Altas Kingdom. We want to help you, your majesty. I know crown prince Altas won't stop until he conquers Moon Aires," I added.
The way he firmly looked at me was his way of intimidating me. He's giving me a warning that my next words might be a reason for me to get punished or, at worst, be beheaded. He sighed.
"I know. That's the reason why I have to guard this place properly, or else the blame will fall on me. I know my big brother, the crown prince, will wait for my mistakes. Being the grand duke means a threat to him. I was an absolute reserve when he died," Prince Noah explains.
I stood in front of him and brushed his head. He looks at me with a weird expression in his eyes. I stopped after a minute and held his hands.
I raise them up and place my palm in his. "Whoa! The men's hands were really huge," I muttered. He frowned. I cough.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I guess being in royal blood isn't a bed of flowers, right? Like I said before, siblings can argue but never betray each other. I know you won't, Prince Noah," I whispered.
I raise my head and look through his blue and sad eyes. "It will be fine. One day, all of you will be in harmony. All of you will surely make the citizens proud and keep this kingdom safe and beautiful," I added.
I let go of his hand. I didn't hear his response to my proposal, but it's okay. I will continue our plans and make sure that we are one step ahead of that kingdom.
I walk towards the porch. I was ready to stand on it again and return to my room when he grabbed my wrist. He looks at me madly.
"You better stop being a daredevil, grand duchess. Use the normal way of getting inside your room," he growled madly. I gulp.
I laugh and brush my nape. "Actually, I was about to, your majesty. Good night!" I said, freeing my wrist from his grip.
He lets go of me. I turn my back and start walking away. Prince Noah coughs. "Are you free tomorrow, Kassandra?"
