Kassandra's POV
I opened my eyes and noticed that the room was silent. I remember what happened. My wound is the reason why I passed out.
I slowly got up and leaned my back on my headboard. I groan. My abdomen was a bit painful, but it's not like yesterday. I breathe deeply and try to relax myself.
'I wonder what happened to that woman who tried to kill the queen. Wait a second… Where am I? Is this my room?'
The door opened, and my husband came in. Our eyes meet, and the tray he was holding suddenly slips into his hand. "Agh!"
I stood up and groaned when my wound ached. I continued walking, and my knees gave in. I tripped myself and was about to fall when he caught me. I heard his painful groan. I raised his hand and saw that his skin had become reddish.
"What are you even doing with that bowl of hot liquid? My goodness, Your Majesty! Your pristine skin shouldn't get scared. Is there someone outside?! I need help here!"
I start blowing Prince Kalix's hand. I know this is painful, especially when the liquid is boiling hot. The maids enter the room holding a bowl of water.
I drag him with me and make him sit on the bed. "This will lessen the pain, Your Majesty," I stated. I pulled up the chair and sat in front of him.
I have to ensure he won't raise his hand quickly after I let go of his wrist. My forehead wrinkles.
"Your Majesty, why are you staring at me like that? You're making me scared," I whispered. He didn't blink, either.
"Your majesty? Anyway, what happened yesterday? I suddenly passed, and now it's morning again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience," I stated. Prince Noah looks confused.
"What are you talking about, Kassandra? You've been sleeping for the last five days," he replied. My jaw drops.
I cracked up and turned back to my serious expression. "Are you serious, your majesty? If this is a joke, don't you think it's too much?" I ask.
He sighed and met my eyes. "Do I look like someone who is joking, Lady Kassandra?" I saw how serious his expression was.
'What the hell! I never thought this wound would knock me out like that!'
"How's your feeling? Your wound was better than in the past few days. I must warn you, hmm?" Prince Noah says, raising his other hand index finger. He even points it at me.
"Don't you dare go on the training ground and move around like your wound isn't serious," he added. I sulked and decided to negotiate.
"This is not serious! I was just embarrassed, and the wound was fresh! That's the reason why I passed out again," I said, nodding.
"I said no negotiation! Can you just listen to your husband?!"
I stood up, pouting while placing my hands on my waist. "But why?! It's my duty to take care of my army, this kingdom's army," I stated.
He stood up also and held my cheeks using his hand and fingers. He even pinches them with his fingers.
"Don't even try to negotiate because my answer is final. Just listen to me. I'm the head of this household," Prince Noah says. I grab his wrist and speak.
"But this is my body. It's my rule to obey," I say back.
He looks at me from head to toe. "Are you sure it's still yours?" he says, raising her hand.
Prince Kalix was showing me our wedding ring. I drag his hand down and release my cheeks from his grip. I massage my cheeks.
"What did you mean by that? Of course it's mine," I nonchalantly replied.
He sighed deeply. He grabbed my wrist this time and pulled it up. Our bodies were already touching each other.
"General Escalante, a wife's body isn't hers alone anymore. They've become mine as well. So you better take care of it and fulfill your promise of attending to my needs and your marital obligations…" he whispered.
He moved his lips closer and let go of me after. I gulp and realize what he means by me not having my body all by myself. I brush my neck and look away.
This shouldn't be the case. I shouldn't get flustered every time he acts like this. I felt like my husband was flirting with me!
"See? So you better listen to me. Your body and soul are mine. So don't die yet. Do it when I tell you to. Did you understand, General Escalante?" he paused, shaking his head.
"No. Did you understand, Kassandra?" he added.
I pout and sulk. "Okay, milord," I stated. Deep inside, I feel relieved.
'At least… you accept me as your wife…'
I checked his hand again. It's not red anymore. "I'm glad it didn't leave any mark," I stated. He stood up.
"I'll decoct another medicine that you should drink. I'll also send Axel here to change your bandage," he says.
I just nodded and sat on the couch, waiting for Axel's arrival. After a few minutes, the door opened, and it was the doctor of the Escalante army.
"Greetings, General Escalante," Axel says.
He sits next to me and checks my wound. I watch him and realize that my wound is closed and healed. I knew I'd have new scars because of this wound.
I sighed. He stops cleaning my wound. Axel looked at me, and I saw how curious he was. "Is there a problem, General Escalante?"
"Nothing. Just continue," I stated. He nodded. He just taped gauze and bandages on my wounds. I fixed my clothes.
"I will start making your medicines and search for the best doctor who can help you with your scars, in general. Now that you are married, you must have smooth skin. That will make his majesty like you," Axel says.
He bows his head and leaves before I raise an argument. My soldiers knew me too much. Should I be stricter from now on?
I went to my wardrobe and decided to change my clothes. It feels uncomfortable when I wear dresses. I choose to wear my normal clothes.
This is better, and I can move freely as well. "Kassandra?! Kassandra?!" he called. His voice was shaky. I can sense that he is freaking nervous.
"I am here, milord!" I roared. I put on my sleeve and start buttoning it. The door opens, and he turns his back right away.
"Why didn't you tell me that you're changing!?" he roars.
"What? I'm just buttoning my clothes. Is that the tonic that you made for me?" I ask. He faced me and nodded. I grab the bowl and drink it all at once.
"Where's that assassin?"
