The new potion had a sweet and refreshing taste, a far cry from the bitter, nauseating concoction Anna had tried before.
As soon as Anna drank it, a comforting warmth spread through her body. The throbbing pain in her head disappeared, and although she still felt a little tired, the difference was undeniable.
Anna sighed in relief, setting the empty vial on the table.
"Well, this one's a thousand times better."
Marcus, who had been watching her closely, smiled as some color returned to her face.
"See? Not all potions are as terrible as that one. Although, knowing how our dear medic operates, it might've just been a gamble."
Anna turned her head toward the medic, who was busy cleaning up the mess caused by her earlier bout of vomiting. His expression was utterly neutral, almost bored, as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. He showed no hint of remorse for giving her a faulty potion in the first place.
