Chapter 60 - The Academy

Anna stared at the entrance as the carriage moved forward, feeling a knot of nerves in her stomach.

The place before them was impressive, a robust and light-colored stone structure that exuded an ancient kind of elegance.

The tall, solid walls were adorned with wooden beams and narrow windows with clear glass—something rare to see at the orphanage or any other building she had known.

Stone columns surrounded the main entrance, which was flanked by large, dark wooden doors carved with symbols Anna couldn't quite identify.

'Oh, how lovely,' Anna thought as she noticed the gardens with flowers and neatly trimmed bushes that adorned the area, while a perfectly aligned stone path led toward the interior.

When the carriages stopped, the children stepped down in order, following the knight's instructions, and gathered in lines in front of the building.

Anna, with her friends by her side, observed her surroundings with awe.
