Chapter 89 - it had to be him

I walked over to the other side, aiming to capture more angles. As I focused on framing the perfect shot, I took a step backward, unaware of the danger that loomed just behind me.

Suddenly, the ground beneath my feet gave way, and I felt myself slipping towards a huge trench. My heart pounded loudly in my chest, each beat echoing with the realization that death was closer than ever before.

The fall happened so fast, and before I could react or grab onto anything, I felt a strong hand grasp mine.

I looked over in panic, expecting to see the grim reaper himself holding my hand.

Had my soul left my body already?

But as my vision cleared, I saw a man... his face obscured by a black mask, his forehead covered by his bangs.

Only his eyes were visible, and they seemed hauntingly familiar.

The touch of his hand felt like something I had known forever. My heart skipped a beat.

"Karim," I whispered, my voice trembling.
