The rest hour has ended, and the team is now preparing to enter the pyramid. Mr. Joseph advances, followed by the Colonel, then the rest of the soldiers. They take the descending corridor towards the room of Pharaoh Khufu, which Mr. Joseph assumes is connected to the supernatural due to it being the heart of the pyramid. The team is walking in a very dark and cold place, and silence prevails over their march, while the soldiers feel a lot of tension. Although this place is a tourist attraction that many people usually come to, the idea of an invisible danger seems very likely in these conditions of the world. Everyone feels like they are in a horror movie, the only problem is that they do not know who or what the enemy is.
The team arrived at the king's room, and unlike everyone expected, everything was very normal. The granite sarcophagus is as it is, and there is no strange drawing or mark in place. It seems their hope is somewhat disappointed. As the team prepares to leave, one of the soldiers notices that the coffin is magnetized for some reason, attracting iron to it. Although its effect is weak, the existence of any magnetic force itself is very strange.
"It seems we are getting closer," says Mr. Joseph. "Whatever is inside this coffin has no doubt something to do with these events. We must open this coffin."
The colonel gives orders to ten soldiers to gather around the coffin and try to open it, but to no avail, as the coffin is very solid and heavy. The soldiers start shooting at the coffin in hopes that some of the stones will crumble from it, but they barely scratch the surface. After the failure of the previous two attempts, the Colonel orders the use of grenades to blow the cover. The soldiers attach a bomb to each corner of the coffin, in the small space between the lid and the coffin itself. After everyone takes a safe distance, they detonate the bombs, and the plan succeeds in opening the coffin. Mr. Joseph steps forward to see what's inside, but for the second time he is disappointed. There is only an old mummy, and the magnetic field has disappeared. They tried to move the mummy to see if there was anything underneath or a secret passage, but they found nothing. Mr. Joseph is frustrated and disappointed, and the Colonel sarcastically comments,
"It seems like all that effort was for nothing in the end."
As everyone prepares to leave, they hear a sound that sounds like an old man breathing violently, but louder and more terrifying. Everyone turns to see a sight that none of them could have imagined. The mummy has woken up and is moving on its own. They have grown to twice the size of a human, just as a dry sponge increases in size when immersed in water. Her body was completely wrapped in ancient papyrus, barely showing a bit of her dark black skin. There is no meat, just dry black skin on stone bones. There is no nose, eyes, or ears, just a terrifying green light emanating from the hollows of its head with long, serrated, crooked teeth. The soldiers become terrified and begin shooting frantically at the mummy, but the bullets pass out of her body without affecting her. The soldiers continue firing until their ammunition runs out, and for a few seconds the place is silent, just like the calm before a storm. In the blink of an eye, the mummy moves in front of Colonel Mustafa, grabs his head in her fist, lifts it up, and then crushes his head like a grown man crushes a tomato. The soldiers stand still in fear, and the massacre begins.
In a few seconds, the mummy tears apart several soldiers, leaving only mutilated corpses remaining. The soldiers flee with Joseph in a state of panic, and the worst thing on their minds is the fact that they are facing a monster that is unaffected by any weapons they possess. The soldiers disperse in an attempt to escape, but the mummy hunts them down one by one. While escaping, Joseph, Muhammad, and Saeed gather together and hide in one of the corridors above the king's room. Muhammad's face was filled with shock and horror as he heard the screams of his colleagues being torn apart alive.
"How could it have gotten to this point? I wasn't even supposed to be here in the first place," Mohammed says.
Joseph continued:
"Yes, none of us expected the matter to develop to this degree of horror. The mummy may have already wiped out the rest of the team. It seems that this is the end. Scared and terrified, stuck in a tunnel like rats. The worst of all is that we even don't know what's going on here. Honestly, I still have a hard time believing it all."
Saeed does not show any reaction to their words, as he has not recovered from the effects of hashish yet.
Muhammad stands up and says in despair:
"I will not just sit here and wait for him to come and kill me in the most horrific ways. I will try to get out of here, and if I fail, at least I will not die like a dog."
Joseph agrees and comments:
"You're right, when I came here it was entirely my responsibility, and now it's too late to regret it. Maybe we can survive and come back another day with better preparations."
Saeed agrees to go with them, unaware of everything that is happening anyway.
Muhammad lights a small flashlight and walks slowly in front of the trio, careful not to make any sound so that the mummy does not find them. As they walked, Muhammad hit a small pebble with his foot and it hit the wall, making a small sound that resonated powerfully in the pyramid's stone corridors. They sit still very tensely, hearing a very faint breathing sound behind their backs. Of course, as you would expect, it's the mummy. The mummy grabs Muhammad by the neck and clenches his fist to hit him in the chest and pierce him.
The moment she rips his shirt, a surprise happens. The mummy screams in pain and quickly moves away from Muhammad. Meanwhile, Joseph notices that the hand with which she was hitting Muhammad has disappeared, and steam is rising from its place. Despite his physical safety, Muhammad remains completely frozen in place due to shock. He touches his body parts, he can't believe he's still alive. Joseph runs to him to check on him and says:
"Are you okay?"
Mohamed replies:
"Even though I don't believe it yet, yes, I'm fine."
Joseph:
"What stopped the mummy from killing you anyway? Were you hiding a bulletproof shield or something inside your jacket?"
Muhammad answers:
"No, just a water bottle. The mummy pierced it and it is now pierced." Joseph thought for a moment, then said excitedly:
"I found it! I found the mummy's weak spot."
Muhammad asks, with a look of hope on his face:
"What is it?"
"It's water! For some reason, this creature is so allergic to water that its body evaporates if it comes into contact with it," Joseph answers.
"All we have to do is distract it, pour water on it, and we'll kill it. It's too risky, and all I'm saying is just an inference But it is our only hope of survival."
"It's a good idea," Muhammad replies in a desperate tone of voice,
"but there's one problem. Where are we going to get water here? This was the only water I had, and I don't think you have water either."
This answer was a complete shock to Joseph, it simply made all his hopes evaporate.
"It's okay, I have a plan," Saeed said.
Joseph and Muhammad are surprised, and Muhammad says: "Are you even aware of everything that is happening here, Saeed?"
Saeed answers:
"I admit that I am not fully conscious, but I am conscious enough to think of a plan to save us from this situation. All you have to do is find a little higher place for me and distract the mummy, and I will take care of the rest."
Even though they were not convinced by what he said. However, he has already come up with several effective ideas on this trip. It seems that his simple and relaxed thought is effective in such situations that are devoid of logic. In addition, they have no other ideas in this situation. Saeed hides in a high place and prepares to start the plan. Muhammad and Joseph make noise to attract the mummy's attention to them.
Within minutes, the mummy appears again with one hand and her appearance indicates anger and rage at what Muhammad did last time. Without wasting any time, the mummy begins to target Muhammad, who is trying to avoid it. He still has some ammunition to fire at it. Although he knows that it will not affect her, he hopes that she will delay it a little until the right moment comes.
The mummy waves her hand and breaks Muhammad's weapon and throws it away, breaking his leg. Before delivering the final blow, Joseph begins throwing rocks and gravel at her to distract her from Muhammad, so she follows him Joseph runs while the mummy follows him down to the bottom of the ledge on which Saeed is standing.
As the mummy prepares to deliver the final blow to Joseph, suddenly water falls on her head, and her body begins to evaporate. The mummy tries to escape, but it's too late. Her head was already vaporizing, and the rest of her body was vaporizing as well. Within less than a minute, there was nothing left of the mummy, the monster was dead again.
Saeed jumps down and congratulates Joseph, saying,
"Honestly, I didn't expect your idea to work. You did a great job, but where did you get the water?"
"I just peed on her," Saeed answers while laughing.
Joseph is surprised and shocked by Sayid's answer, commenting,
"Well, that was a little gross and weird, but it worked. I can't complain about that."
The two then rush to Muhammad, who has broken his leg and is no longer able to move, but is still conscious. Muhammad leans on Joseph and Sayid, and they exit the pyramid.
They are tired, hungry and thirsty, and although they survived, the trauma is still affecting them. The biggest problem they currently face is how to get Mohammed out, who has broken his leg and is almost unable to move, and suddenly He falls unconscious.
After a few days, Muhammad opens his eyes to find himself outside the pyramid area, and hears a voice telling him:
"You have finally woken up, you idiot."
