Ling Fan was a teenager with a bright future, loving parents, big aspirations, and best of all, he was extremely popular in school. However, It was all ruined on that fateful day. It began like any other normal day, Ling Fan and his family were on a road trip in the rural mountains of Dandong. "Mom, must we do this? I don't even have my phone" He grumbled." Suddenly, his thoughts were cut off as the vehicle came to an abrupt stop on the ground, knocking Lin Fan unconscious. When he came to, He was lying in a hospital bed while Doctors looked at him. He sat up in a daze and asked, "What happened?" "You were in a car crash with your family. '' His friends answered. Lin Fan then asked, "What about my parents… o-or my siblings?" With a grim face, one of the doctors replied, "Unfortunately, you were the only survivor." Lin Fan's heart felt like it was falling down a bottomless pit. It couldn't be! He couldn't be the only one that had survived that crash! Lin Fan's vision blurred with tears as he thought about the countless situations he had faced before. However, none of them had included him being a lonely orphan with no friends. His mind was sent reeling and his heart rate flew through the roof.Â
Suddenly, he woke up, sweating, and looked around. He breathed a sigh of relief, "Phew! It was just a dream." His roommate, Xiao Pang, leaned over and asked, "Another one of those nightmares?" "Yeah, they seem to be getting more frequent." Lin Fan replied, wiping the sweat off his brow. Sitting up, he checked his clock. Seeing it was nine AM, he shot out of bed, grabbed his bag, and dashed to class. However, in his hurry, he did not see the campus delivery van. The last thing Lin Fan saw was two headlights before everything turned black. Lin Fan felt himself floating in an inky abyss and sensed a large presence near him. Suddenly, he heard a deep, soothing voice, "I apologize, for that truck was not meant to hit you. As compensation, I will send you to another world, a world where you can cultivate. I shall also grant you a system. Goodbye now." Then, Lin Fan's vision went dark again.
