"The delay has already happened, Fumiko, and it's clearly your fault," the director snapped.
His tone was scathing. "I told you yesterday to be on time because the headline needed to be early. You were two hours late, and now you say there won't be any more delays? Of course there won't be any more delays, since the superior has finally arrived," he mocked.
Fumiko bowed her head, her voice calm amidst the storm. "I think you're confusing your emotions, Director."
His anger flared. "What? You have the nerve to say I'm mocking you? Tell me why I'm mocking you then!"
She met his gaze without flinching. "There are plenty of reasons why you're upset, Director. The main one is that you failed to release the voice recording of Mr. Hiroto Anzai to get the praise you wanted. Am I right?"
The director's face turned a deep crimson. "How dare you accuse me of something like that!"
