{{{REWRITTEN.}}}
Some people may find this annoying but I honestly wanted to rewrite this, I hope you understand, I also do this for fun but sometimes I also do this seriously, DMC is one of my favorite video games and I like isekai, different isekais and not the boring generic ones.
For those who are confused by this change, well... I decided to rewrite everything, this time it will be different, there will be no system, just Dante and his most beloved weapon, Rebellion.
Obviously there will be Devil May Cry stuff, skills and such, like Quicksilver, Royalguard and such, but I consider it is better to learn it naturally and not with a system.
The reason why I rewrote the fanfic is for a few reasons, I rushed with some things, like the power scales, I made the MC quite OP from the beginning, I should have cooked slowly but I cooked QUITE quickly, a mistake.
the characters weren't interesting, probably the MC was the only "interesting" thing...plus I didn't really like how the story was going the more I wrote, I think I can't write a "modern" magical world in a decent way, so I decided to make it a "classic" magical world, although I was reading several things and decided to make the story a little darker but I don't want to do super EDGY things, although it will also have comedy, well... I'll try XD.
I was inspired by several things I read, like berserk for things about monsters and some places in the novel, as well as other mangas and even manhwas.
well, I hope you enjoy, this time I want to cook something slowly but not so slowly, this time I want to do it in a decent way.

In an empty alley, a person lay on the ground, staring up at the night sky, his eyes lost in the darkness. He covered his stomach with his hand, trying to stem the bleeding from a knife wound. The blood continued to seep out, forming a small pool beneath him.
"This really sucks," he muttered, a pained smile spreading across his face. "I was just heading to the convenience store and some guy stabs me...? What the fuck..." His eyes never left the sky as he spoke, his voice barely above a whisper.
Anthony, a 20-year-old guy, had been out to grab a snack, but fate had other plans. He lay there, his life slipping away, and all he could think about was what his parents would say. "Ha...what will my parents say? Well, I doubt they'll do anything, they don't even care."
As the blood continued to flow, Anthony's gaze remained fixed on the night sky. He was waiting for the inevitable, his end in the world. "Damn, why didn't I get hit by a truck like in those typical isekai stories...? At least maybe I would have died without pain, I think so..."
Suddenly, words appeared in the air in front of him, a jumbled mess of letters that made no sense, yet somehow he understood them in a way that felt just out of reach.
[Do you want another chance...?]
The strange words hovering in the air caught Anthony off guard, and he frowned, his gaze fixed on the eerie message. "Yeah, I don't think it sounds that bad..." he muttered, his voice laced with skepticism. "Shit, I must have lost too much blood, I'm hallucinating now?"
[Well, Anthony, I hope you can survive in a really dangerous world, on your own, although you will obviously have something that will help you, YOURSELF]
As Anthony's vision began to blur, his eyelids grew heavy, and he slowly closed his eyes, the words still lingering in his mind.

[ANTHONY/??? POV]
The sound of dripping water echoed through the air, accompanied by a putrid smell that was making my stomach turn. The creaking of footsteps and faint, mocking laughter seemed to come from all directions, making my skin crawl.
I slowly opened my eyes, wincing at the pain in my face. As I looked around, my eyes widened in surprise - I was no longer in the alley. Instead, I found myself in a dimly lit cave. The darkness was only partially illuminated by a torch flickering on the wall, casting eerie shadows on the stone.
"Where the fuck am I!?" I exclaimed, my voice laced with confusion and panic. But as I spoke, I noticed something even stranger - my voice sounded different. It was higher, younger.
"What the fuck!?" I repeated, staring at my hands in shock. They were smaller, and my arms and legs were definitely shorter. Wait a minute...
"Isekai...??" I muttered, my eyes wide with shock. This wasn't my body. This wasn't a reincarnation - I was pretty sure it was called transmigration, right?
I took a deep breath, trying to calm down and think logically. Was I really in another world? This body felt foreign, and I had no idea how I got here.
So many questions swirled in my mind, but I had few answers.
I stood up and walked over to the torch on the wall, carefully plucking it from its crack. The flame cast flickering shadows on the walls, making the surroundings slightly less ominous.
"Well, now I have some light, something is better than nothing," I muttered to myself, taking in my surroundings. This place was seriously creepy.
I examined my clothes in the torchlight, and they looked like a white shirt and black shorts. At least I was dressed. Judging by my clothes and body, I was probably around 12 years old.
I sighed and started walking through the cave, determined to get out of there as fast as possible.
As I walked, the ground and walls seemed to blend together in an endless expanse of rock and darkness. I noticed some cracks in the wall and caught a whiff of something foul - like rotten meat. Suddenly, I stopped and heard footsteps echoing through the cave. Something was getting closer.
"Kri kri" - a sound like laughter echoed off the walls, sending a shiver down my spine. I peered intently into the darkness, trying to see what was making the noise.
The laughter sounded again, and this time I could see a figure emerging from the shadows. It was small, about the size of a human child, with greenish-gray skin covered in scabs, oozing pustules, and irregular scars. Its head was disproportionately large, topped with greasy, matted hair that seemed to be infested with parasites - were those worms?!
Its eyes were huge and sickly yellow, with red veins visible beneath the surface. Its nose was long, crooked, and warty, with nostrils that seemed to be constantly dripping with a viscous substance. Its mouth was too large for its face, filled with crooked and broken teeth that looked like knives. The stench emanating from its mouth was rancid. Its limbs were long and gnarled, ending in oversized hands and feet with black, curved nails. Its skin was stretched tight over its bones, and I could see pulsating veins and the occasional worm crawling underneath.
"What the fuck is that...?" I muttered in shock, my eyes fixed on the creature. It was a monster, and it was disgusting.
The green monster locked eyes with me, its gaze paralyzing. It stood up, its stare fixed on me, and I felt my body freeze. Shit, shit, shit...
This was freaking terrifying. I couldn't move, my eyes glued to the monster's yellow orbs. It was like being a deer caught in the headlights, unable to budge.
Move, MOVE, SHIT!
But my body wouldn't budge. The monster's smile was grotesque, its lips curling up in a twisted grin. I even noticed a worm slipping into its mouth and falling to the cave floor. The monster took a step forward, its movements slow and deliberate, and I took a step back, my heart racing.
The monster continued to close in, its smile never wavering. I quickly took a step back and started to back away, trying to put some distance between us. But the monster kept coming, its eyes fixed intently on me.
Suddenly, it let out a guttural growl: "KRI KRIII!"
I spun around and started sprinting, my feet pounding the ground as I desperately tried to escape. The sound of the monster's footsteps behind me was like a drumbeat, driving me to run faster. My heart was racing, pounding in my chest like it was going to burst. I heard the monster's maniacal giggle echoing through the cave, and it only made me run faster.
SHIT!!
I sprinted without stopping, the sound of the monster's maniacal laughter echoing through the cave as it chased after me. I could hear its footsteps getting closer and closer, but no matter how fast I ran, I couldn't seem to get away. I gritted my teeth, determination burning within me - I was going to take down that disgusting creature once and for all.
I quickly spun around, and my eyes landed on the monster as it charged towards me. Its limbs moved awkwardly as it gained speed, and I steeled myself for impact. As it launched itself at me, I saw its jaws open wide, ready to sink its teeth into my flesh. I clenched my fist and threw a punch at its face, feeling a surge of pain as my knuckles connected with its skin. The monster crashed to the ground, growling and clutching at its face.
I glanced down at my fist, wincing at the sight of the green, sticky substance smeared across my knuckles. The monster struggled to its feet, its face twisted in a snarl as it glared at me. It covered part of its face with its hands, still growling in pain, but its eyes never left mine.
Suddenly, it lunged at me again, and I raised my torch in a futile attempt to scare it off. But the monster didn't flinch, and it leapt at me once more. I swung the torch in a desperate bid to fend it off, but it only seemed to enrage it further.
A searing pain shot through my shoulder as the monster's teeth sank deep into my flesh. "AHHHHHH LET ME GO!!" I screamed, trying to pry the creature off me, but its grip was like a vice. The pain intensified, and I heard the sickening sound of flesh tearing. "AHHHH SHIT!!!" I yelled, using my torch to strike at the monster in a frantic bid to get it to release me.
As I hit the monster again and again, I felt the wood of the torch splintering, but I didn't stop. I was consumed by a singular focus - to get the monster off me. I kept hitting, the sound of the wood cracking and splintering echoing through the cave.
I kept hitting the monster non-stop, the sound of the wood cracking and flesh tearing echoing off the walls of the vast cave. I was only targeting the monster's face now, even though it had stopped biting me a while ago. I couldn't seem to stop, my blows raining down on its already mangled features.
My hands throbbed with pain, and I could feel the splinters from the torch digging into my skin. I glanced down and saw that my hands were indeed injured, the splinters piercing my flesh like tiny needles. Blood trickled down my hands, dripping slowly to the ground. I looked back at the monster, its face now a sunken, destroyed mess. Blood flowed freely from its wounds, pooling beneath it like a crimson lake.
The nausea churned in my stomach, threatening to spill out at any moment, but I gritted my teeth and forced it back down with effort. I desperately wanted to vomit, to expel the horror and disgust from my body, but I knew it wasn't the right time. I had to stay alert, had to be prepared for the possibility of more monsters emerging.
I stared at the monster, my chest heaving with exertion, and then my gaze wandered to the surrounding area. That's when I spotted another torch, partially hidden in a nearby crevice. I got to my feet, wincing as a wave of pain shot through my shoulder. I took a step forward, my hand reaching out to grab the torch. As I moved, I felt the warmth of my own blood sliding down my shoulder, and I saw droplets of it fall to the cave floor.
"I need... to get out of here," I muttered to myself, continuing on through the cave, leaving the lifeless body of the green monster behind. The smell of blood grew stronger as I walked, filling my nostrils with its metallic stench. My shoulder throbbed with pain, but it seemed to be getting worse with every step. I glanced down at my shoulder, and my eyes widened in surprise as I saw my flesh begin to regenerate, albeit slowly. The skin itched as it healed, and I could see the tissue repairing itself right before my eyes. It was a surreal sight, and I couldn't help but stare.
"What the fuck...?" I muttered, my gaze fixed on my shoulder in a mix of awe and disgust. I took a deep breath, shook my head, and refocused on my goal. "I have to get out of here, no matter what." I sighed, determined to escape the cave.
--
I had lost all sense of time. Was it minutes? Hours? I had no idea. I had been walking through the cave for what felt like an eternity, my initial torch having long since burned out. Luckily, I had stumbled upon another one, allowing me to continue my journey. I trudged on, entering new tunnels and finding only more tunnels in return. It was like navigating a never-ending maze, a labyrinth with no escape.
As I walked, I suddenly picked up on some noises. I spotted another tunnel nearby, and my heart skipped a beat as I saw a glimmer of light in the distance. I approached cautiously, my senses on high alert. As I peered out into the light, my stomach dropped.
Dozens of green monsters, identical to the one I had killed earlier, were feasting on something on the ground. My eyes widened in horror as I took in the gruesome sight. It was a person, a man in tattered leather armor, his body broken and torn into pieces, his eyes empty and lifeless. The monsters were tearing at his flesh, devouring his limbs. Some were gnawing on his hand, others on his leg. I felt a lump form in my throat as I watched, my mind reeling with disgust. I quickly covered my mouth with my hand to stifle a gag, but the nausea continued to build. I took a deep breath and began to calm down, trying to process the horror of what I was seeing.
I gritted my teeth, trying to push aside my revulsion. That's when I spotted something that caught my attention - a backpack, partially hidden nearby, with something next to it on the ground. A little farther away from the monsters, I saw a metal sword, its surface worn but still looking serviceable. It was something I could use to defend myself.
As the monsters continued to feast on the corpse, I carefully made my move, creeping slowly and stealthily towards the sword. I kept my eyes fixed on the monsters, trying not to make a sound as I approached the sword. I smiled to myself as I finally reached it, crouching down to grab it from the ground. It felt solid in my hand, a decent weight that gave me a sense of security.
But my moment of triumph was short-lived. A chill ran down my spine as I heard the unmistakable sound of mocking giggles - "kri kri kri!" My heart sank, and I felt a cold sweat break out on my back. I clenched my teeth, knowing I'd been spotted.
I turned to see the monsters staring at me, their yellow eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. Their mouths were still smeared with fresh blood, which dripped slowly to the ground. One of the monsters let out a blood-curdling scream - "kri kri...KRIIII!!" - and charged towards me.
The monster lunged at me, jaws wide open, and I reacted on pure instinct. I hurled the torch straight at its face, and the creature let out a growl as I slammed it down hard against its nose. I swiftly followed up with a powerful swing of my sword, putting all my might into the horizontal arc. The blade bit deep into the monster's neck, and I watched with a grim sense of satisfaction as its head lolled to the side, blood spraying everywhere. Some of the hot, sticky liquid splattered onto my face, making me wince.
The monster crumpled to the ground beside me, its body convulsing as it clutched at its neck. But it was a mortal wound, and the blood continued to flow freely, forming a pool on the ground. The monster's movements slowed, then stopped, and I knew it was dead.
"KRI KRIIIIIII!!" The sound echoed through the cave, and I gripped the sword tightly, bracing myself for the onslaught. I was determined to survive, to make it out of this nightmarish place alive. I WILL NOT DIE IN A FUCKING PLACE LIKE THIS!!
One of the monsters lunged at me, and I dodged it by a hair's breadth. I quickly counterattacked, swinging the sword in a wide arc and cutting into the monster's back. The flesh parted easily, and blood flowed rapidly down its back. The monster let out a blood-curdling scream as I followed up with a swift cut to its neck. The sword bit deep, and the monster crashed to the ground, convulsing in agony as its blood spilled out.
But I didn't have time to catch my breath. Another monster attacked, its nails raking across my back with a searing pain. I spun around, teeth clenched and sword at the ready. The monster lunged at me, but I dodged its attack and struck back, cutting off its arm with a swift swing of the sword. Blood sprayed everywhere, soaking the ground and walls as the monster fell to the ground, screaming in pain.
--
I stood panting, surveying the carnage around me. The floor was slick with blood, and the walls were splattered with it. The air was thick with the stench of death, and I felt my stomach churn with nausea. I looked down at the sword in my hand, its blade cracked and worn from the battle. My body ached, my wounds burning with every movement. I looked at my left hand and felt a wave of dizziness wash over me - two fingers were missing, torn off by the monsters' bites. I could see the bones, and blood flowed freely from the stumps.
"It hurts..." I muttered, my voice barely above a whisper. I looked around at the dozens of corpses on the floor, some of them cut into pieces, others missing limbs. Some were decapitated, their heads lying nearby.
"At least I was able to live..." I said, a tired smile spreading across my face. My body felt heavy, my eyelids drooping with exhaustion. But I knew I couldn't rest yet. I had to keep moving, to find a way out of this hellhole.
I saw a nearby monster on the ground and finally, my stomach couldn't take it anymore, I knew this was going to happen.
I felt a twist in my stomach, a wave of nausea washing over me as something churned its way from my insides to my throat.
"Shit...urgh" I stammered, trying to contain the disgust, but it was no use. I felt a bitter taste rise up my throat and I leaned forward, opening my mouth as vomit began to spew out, hitting the ground with a wet and unpleasant splat. The strong acidic smell wafted up, filling my nostrils, and I stepped back, wiping the thread of saliva from my mouth with the back of my hand.
"Fuck..." I muttered with annoyance, feeling the unpleasant taste lingering in my mouth. I looked around, my gaze landing on the backpack again. That could be useful.
