Bronson was assigned to the outer courtyard of the palace. Lu Yin couldn't let him get too close; he had too many secrets. The same went for Xu San.
When Lu Yin opened the light screen, a familiar figure appeared. "Hello, classmate."
Lu Yin didn't expect it to be him contacting him, Silver. "How did you get my personal terminal number?"
Silver smiled, "If I want to know, I can find out."
"What do you want?" Lu Yin asked coolly.
Silver smiled, "It's been a while, and I missed you. I'm also here to give you a gift."
"A gift?" Lu Yin asked, puzzled.
Silver sent a location to Lu Yin's personal terminal. "There are a few Corpse Kings hidden at this place. You might find them useful."
Lu Yin's expression turned sharp. "You really are connected to the Neohuman Alliance. Baruda's betrayal was your doing, wasn't it? On Earth, you assassinated Zhang Dingtian to trigger the corpse tide. Those Corpse Kings were brought by you, right?"
Silver picked his ear nonchalantly. "Don't be so loud; someone might hear. I'm not part of the Neohuman Alliance, just happened to know about these things. Don't push everything onto me."
Lu Yin's eyes flickered. "Why are you telling me this location?"
"I told you, I want to help you."
"And I told you, even if you help me, I won't repay you in the future."
"Haha, so heartless. Well, think of it as a good deed. A favor," Silver said, still smiling.
Lu Yin stared at Silver. "Eradicating the Neohuman Alliance is everyone's duty. Now that I know the location, I'll take care of it. You won't escape either. I'm already watching you. Once I find your location, I'll hand you over to the Royal Court's Thirteenth Squad."
Silver's lips curled into a smirk. "Let's see if you can manage that. Goodbye, classmate." With that, the light screen disappeared.
Lu Yin looked up at the sky. The Neohuman Alliance was a massive organization spanning both the Inner and Outer Universe. What role did Silver play in it? Why was he helping him? Was it because of his title as King Zishan? It seemed that the title might be more valuable than he had imagined.
His family wanted him to become King Zishan, and the Neohuman Alliance approached him because of it. The Great Yu Empire was only a power in the Canglan Territory, so why would the title of King Zishan be so attractive?
Lu Yin exhaled. Forget it. He didn't want to think about it anymore. His focus now was on two things: joining the Great Yu Empire's Youth Council and the Tenth Institute in the starry sky. As for everything else about being King Zishan, that could wait.
Glancing at the outer courtyard, Lu Yin turned off the room lights and rubbed his hands together. It was time. The die was always worth looking forward to. He wondered what he would roll this time.
He calculated that he now had seventy cubic meters of star crystals, more than he had ever had. Enough for seventy rolls. Unfortunately, he could only roll five times at most before depleting himself. Four times was ideal. If he wanted to roll again, he had to rest for a while. If the rest period was too short, even one roll could deplete him.
"Let's see what luck has in store for me," Lu Yin muttered, feeling like a gambler.
Opening his hand, the die appeared. It wasn't dim but had a faint starlight. Lu Yin slapped his forehead; he had forgotten that it could recover on its own without star crystals, though it took a long time. The time from Earth to Zenyu Star had been enough. He should have rolled it earlier. What a waste.
Looking at the die, Lu Yin touched it. As the die spun and gradually stopped, it landed on 'two.'
"Two points, not bad," Lu Yin muttered, looking at the decomposition whirlpool. He took out several items from his cosmic ring and threw them in, including several cosmic rings.
The materials from the decomposition were mostly unrecognizable to Lu Yin. These materials didn't just decompose once; all decomposed materials would be reinvested until they could no longer decompose.
This time, the only material Lu Yin recognized was two grains of Qiu Jin essence. Adding to the one from before, he now had three grains. Not much, but not bad either. This stuff was expensive. Apart from Qiu Jin essence, he got several other unfamiliar materials, likely all valuable. Lu Yin stored them all.
Quickly, the five-minute period ended. Lu Yin obtained quite a few materials, many types but in small quantities. However, they were probably all valuable.
He took out one cubic meter of star crystals. Soon, the die recovered again.
Lu Yin tapped it, and the die spun rapidly, finally stopping at five points.
Seeing the five points, Lu Yin instinctively wanted to rush out. Five points meant borrowing a talent, and he had to touch a talent user within ten seconds to borrow their talent. But then he stopped; whom would he borrow from? Lu Yin blinked. Apparently, he didn't know any talent users.
Zenyu Star definitely had talent users, but he didn't know any.
Lu Yin's lips twitched. The ten seconds passed quickly, wasted.
Wait, wasn't Xu San one? Lu Yin was speechless. How had he forgotten about him?
With a sigh, he decided to move on. Taking out more star crystals, Lu Yin rolled the die for the third time, stopping at a number he had never rolled before—six points.
Before he could celebrate, a terrifying suction came from the die, instantly draining all the star energy in his body. Simultaneously, the star crystals in his cosmic ring were quickly absorbed, turning into star energy without needing to be crushed, disappearing into the die. In front of Lu Yin, a spatial crack appeared but vanished in less than a second. Everything around him returned to normal.
Lu Yin gasped for breath. What had just happened?
Looking at the dim die, Lu Yin was confused. He had clearly rolled six points, so why was there no reaction? All his star energy had vanished. He quickly checked his cosmic ring, only to find that all the star crystals he had were gone. "This is robbery," Lu Yin thought bitterly.
The die had six points, and three were still unknown. The other four were okay, but the sixth point required terrifying star energy. All his star energy, about seventy cubic meters, could only open a crack, and he had no idea what its purpose was. It was frustrating.
Lu Yin had a bad feeling. If he rolled six points again, would it happen again? Was the sixth point just about extracting all star energy? That couldn't be. Every point had a purpose, but the sixth point's purpose was too overwhelming for him at the moment.
Looking at the dim die, Lu Yin sighed. Today was a bust. All his star energy was gone, and he could only recover slowly. It was a pain.
Having nothing left for cultivation, Lu Yin went straight to sleep, firming up his plans for the future.
That night, many people couldn't sleep, staring at the illuminated King Zishan's mansion, thinking about various things.
The next day, Lu Yin contacted Zhang Dingtian and the others, finding out they were at the Rain Hall and would report to the Royal Court's Thirteenth Squad in a few days. Lu Yin chatted briefly with them, leaving the rest up to them.
"Boss, someone wants to see you," Xu San shouted from outside Lu Yin's room.
Lu Yin walked out. "Who?"
"A military officer with a high rank. He says he's a Marshal named Long Chu," Xu San replied.
Lu Yin had Xu San bring the man to the reception hall.
Soon, a majestic middle-aged man stepped into the hall. The moment he saw Lu Yin, his eyes lit up with excitement, and he immediately bowed. "Third Ring Army Marshal Long Chu greets King Zishan."
Lu Yin helped him up. "No need for that, Marshal. Please sit."
Long Chu was still excited. "King Zishan, we've been waiting for your return."
Lu Yin's eyes flickered. He sent Xu San away and looked at Long Chu. "What do you mean by that, Marshal?"
Long Chu hesitated, glancing around before speaking softly. "I was a soldier under the command of the Immortal Zishan. Many of us served under him, but when the Zishan family disappeared, we were sent to the Third Ring. We thought we'd never see anyone from the Zishan family again, but now you're here, King Zishan. It's wonderful."
"The Third Ring?" Lu Yin asked, puzzled.
Long Chu nodded, bitterness in his voice. "When the Zishan family vanished, most of the soldiers who had followed them were sent to the Third Ring. Officially, it's part of the capital's defense forces, but in reality, it's a place for the offspring of the wealthy to get easy military credentials. We, the old followers of the Zishan family, were discarded like trash in the Third Ring. It's been a torment for us. We're soldiers and don't want to endure such humiliation."
Lu Yin remained silent.
