Chapter 13 - Liu Shaoge

The Universal Star Academy is the top educational institution in the universe, consisting of ten academies. Except for the ninth academy, which is located in the Outer Universe's Endless Territory, the other nine are in the Inner Universe. However, this time, the tenth academy will appear in the Canglan Territory, which includes the Dayu Empire.

Lu Yin turned off the screen, his eyes flickering with thought. This information was incredibly valuable. The Universal Star Academy has an irresistible allure for countless young people across the universe. Previously, it was too distant and irrelevant to him. But now, with the tenth academy set to enter the Canglan Territory, it was impossible not to have some thoughts about it.

To enter the tenth academy, one needs not only exceptional talent and strength but also significant experience.

Right in front of him was an opportunity for such experience: the Earth's Evolution Trial.

No wonder so many people came for this trial. Astor must have come because of this news too.

Lu Yin felt uneasy. Firstly, he didn't know what Astor's task was. Secondly, if no student completed their task within three months, a second batch of trial students would arrive.

In light of the upcoming establishment of the tenth academy, many people wanted to gain experience and enhance their qualifications, including members of powerful clans and notable families. The Earth's Evolution Trial was undoubtedly very attractive, and the arrival of a second batch of students could bring unprecedented brutality to Earth.

Lu Yin felt a sense of urgency. Even the first batch of trial students were at least Explorers. The second batch might include even stronger individuals, and he might not be able to protect himself with his current strength.

Thinking of this made Lu Yin anxious. He needed to reach the Explorer realm within three months, or he would be reduced to an insignificant figure.

As the night passed, the next day, the army continued its march north.

Lu Yin became more silent. He didn't stay inside the armored vehicle but lay on top of it instead.

In Hubei, in Wucheng, the central area of Huaxia, there were over ten million survivors gathered. Despite this, more people continued to arrive each day because one of the Seven Saints, Liu Shaoge, the Light Saint, was there.

When the apocalypse struck, a batch of strange ores appeared around Wucheng, containing light energy. When these ores were cracked open, light would emerge.

Using these ores as a foundation, Liu Shaoge combined them with his combat techniques to protect millions of survivors in Wucheng, thus earning the title of Light Saint.

Columns of light rose around Wucheng, encircling the entire city. For this reason, Wucheng was also called the City of Light, and some even referred to it as the City That Never Sleeps.

In the center of Wucheng, a piece of land was lifted by a pillar of light, floating in mid-air. This was where the Light Saint resided, known to many as the Heavenly Capital.

Beneath the Heavenly Capital was the Light Camp, where ten thousand evolvers guarded the Heavenly Capital, gradually expanding outward.

There were no grand palaces in the Heavenly Capital, only elegant courtyards with no cover.

Anyone standing in the Heavenly Capital could gaze up at the stars.

At this moment, in the courtyard of the Heavenly Capital, a handsome young man with elegant manners stood at the edge, gazing into the distance. He took a sip of his wine, a peculiar smile forming at the corners of his mouth. He was Liu Shaoge, the Light Saint.

Not far from Liu Shaoge stood another young man. Although not as handsome as Liu Shaoge, his eyes were filled with arrogance. He looked at Liu Shaoge as if he were an insect.

"Everything here is your resource, especially those light crystals, which can give you a ten-year lead over your peers. You're wasting them," the young man behind Liu Shaoge said with dissatisfaction.

Liu Shaoge turned and smiled at the young man. "Don't say that, Puyi. Everything here belongs to both of us, not just me."

The young man, called Puyi, softened his expression slightly. "Remove those light columns. You're squandering resources."

Liu Shaoge nodded. "Alright, I'll listen to you. By the way, what did you mean by regional division? Can you explain it clearly?"

Puyi said indifferently, "Trials have their own unspoken rules. As long as we control a certain area, we can mark it as a blue zone on the network. Generally, no one will touch the blue zones in the early stages of the trial unless they are enemies."

"So, Wucheng has already been marked as a blue zone?" Liu Shaoge asked.

Puyi nodded. "Of course. Otherwise, do you think I would be the only one approaching this place? Trials are very brutal. Generally, no one engages in life-and-death battles in the early stages. Besides, every student's background must be considered. Fortunately, my background is not weak. After marking the area, no one will bother us."

Liu Shaoge nodded with a faint smile. "I see."

"Alright, now tell me, what about the matter I asked you to investigate?" Puyi asked impatiently, glancing at the light columns with a hint of pain in his eyes. "Quickly turn off those light columns. It's such a waste."

Liu Shaoge smiled and poured Puyi a drink. "I've found some leads on what you asked me to investigate."

Puyi's eyes lit up. "Really? Tell me."

Liu Shaoge handed the wine glass to Puyi. "Take a look at this wine."

Puyi, puzzled, looked at the wine glass instinctively. There was nothing special about it except for the ripples in the wine, one after another, endlessly...

With a faint smile, Liu Shaoge waited for a while and then said, "Give me your personal terminal."

Puyi, in a trance, handed his personal terminal to Liu Shaoge.

Not long after, Liu Shaoge turned off the personal terminal and rubbed his forehead. "What a hassle. They actually disconnected the cosmic network. Does that mean they discovered I was controlling him? Whatever," he said, putting on the personal terminal and looking up at the sky with a wise smile.

Two days later, the criminal camp army neared the front lines. If it weren't for repairing communication lines along the way, they would have arrived much earlier.

For the past two days, Lu Yin had spent his nights staring at the moon, making Luo Yun think he had gone crazy.

Suddenly, the convoy stopped. Xu San said to Lu Yin, "Boss, something's wrong. We haven't seen any survivors since yesterday. Moreover, there should be soldiers monitoring the front lines along the way. We've been traveling for almost a day without seeing a single person."

Lu Yin stood up, looking into the distance. "Have the army stop and rest."

Avoiding the crowd, Lu Yin opened his personal terminal to scan for combat strength within a radius of one mile, then two miles, up to ten miles. He filtered out any strength below the Explorer level. Finally, he detected an Explorer-level strength thirty-seven kilometers away. The strength level indicated about one thousand eight hundred units.

Lu Yin's expression turned serious. He took out a map, noting that thirty-seven kilometers away was an abandoned county, just twenty kilometers from the front lines. It was located precisely between the front lines and their convoy.

Lu Yin ordered the army to set up camp and then headed north alone to determine whether the detected Explorer-level strength belonged to a mutant beast or a human.

After traveling less than ten kilometers, Lu Yin realized he didn't need to go any further. Ahead, a troop of evolvers marched, indicating that the abandoned county ahead was a gathering point. This meant the detected Explorer-level strength likely belonged to one of the students who had arrived on Earth.

After a moment of contemplation, Lu Yin reinstalled the locator on Astor's personal terminal.

As soon as the locator was activated, a woman with long hair down to her waist, wearing white battle armor, checked her personal terminal a dozen kilometers away. With a cold snort, she flew south.

In no time, a white figure appeared in the sky, hovering and coldly staring down at Lu Yin. "Student, this area has been marked as blue. Please leave."

Lu Yin looked at the woman, his eyes lighting up. She was quite attractive. "Hello, fellow student. I'm Yata, from the First Military Academy of Dayu Empire's Tata Star."

"I'm not interested in knowing. Leave immediately," the woman said coldly, energy rippling around her and creating a sense of pressure.

Lu Yin hurriedly said, "Don't be so hasty. I'm injured and not very strong. I pose no threat to you, and I can offer you resources, lots of resources."

The woman's eyes were cold. "An Astral 9 realm dares to participate in the planetary evolution trial? How did you get in?"

"My grandfather is the principal," Lu Yin said arrogantly.

The woman expressed her disgust. "Scram."

Lu Yin quickly took out several flame crystals from his spatial ring and threw them to the woman. "Help me survive this trial, and I'll give you a basketful of these crystals when we get out."

The woman caught the crystals in surprise, feeling their warm touch, and landed. "Where did you get these?"

Lu Yin pretended to be proud. "Of course, my grandfather gave them to me. He's a strong expert who roams the stars. He has as many of these as he wants."

The woman's eyes narrowed, and she clenched her fists, exuding a hint of killing intent.

Lu Yin cautiously stepped back, glaring at the woman. "Don't act rashly. Although no one can interfere in the trial, who killed whom can still be found out. You don't want my grandfather to

 hunt you down, do you?"

The woman thought for a moment, then released her fists. "I can help you survive on this planet, but your trial results have nothing to do with me."

Lu Yin sighed in relief. "That's fine. My grandfather can get me into the tenth academy regardless. You can have all the results."
