Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Magic Power System

In the world of Elaris, mana flowed through every living being, a force of life and power that connected all things. Mages and warlords harnessed this energy in different ways, shaping it to fit their unique strengths and abilities.

Mages were divided into two distinct types: Elemental Mages and Spirit Mages. Elemental Mages commanded the raw forces of nature—fire, water, earth, and air—channeling mana to conjure and control these elements. Spirit Mages, on the other hand, formed pacts with elemental spirits, borrowing their power to aid in battle. These spirits were elusive and often capricious, making Spirit Mages a rare and revered group, especially among humans. Most Spirit Mages were found among the elves, whose deep connection to nature made them natural conduits for these ethereal beings.

Warlords, by contrast, used mana to enhance their physical prowess, transforming their bodies into weapons of immense power. While there was only one type of Warlord, their skills varied greatly depending on their chosen battle art. Some wielded swords with unparalleled skill, others mastered the bow, and still others fought with their bare hands, each battle art shaping their use of mana in unique ways.

Power in Elaris was ranked in a hierarchy from weakest to strongest: Novice, Adept, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, Archon, and Paragon. This ranking applied to both mages and warlords, with higher ranks being increasingly rare and powerful. Spells, battle arts, and artifacts were also categorized by these ranks, with higher-ranked items being exceedingly rare and coveted.

Monsters in Elaris, too, conformed to this ranking system. From the lowliest beasts to the mightiest dragons, their power could be measured in the same terms, making the world a constant challenge for those who sought to tame or conquer it.
