Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Preparations

I still don't have enough Qi to use all of its functions without aftermath, so I'll have to make do as I can for now. Sigh, I have no problem with most; but carrying a lamp in daylight would attract too much attention.

I put the small gem-encrusted bracelet on my left wrist, and the ring on the index finger of my right hand, leaving the lamp, cloak, and orbs on the floor.

I created a circuit between my energy core, and each of the four elements, except the lamp. From the circuit, the Qi that I had recently made mine began to flow. The intensity was different for each of them; increasing or decreasing, depending on the use I give to them.

Once the channel was fully formed, I could feel the bond I had with them being reestablished. Previously they broke due to lack of power on my part; now that my Qi attributes are different, the circuit that has been formed is different from before.

Before I needed to mentally control the flow of energy constantly, but now it is no longer necessary; as the circuit has become self-sufficient, allowing me to focus my mind on other tasks without losing control over the flow of energy.

With a mental signal, the 36 'Orbs of the Eternal Watcher' floated from the ground to my hand, .

With the help of the 'Ring of the Changeling', I hid the magical and spiritual aura that were emitted from each of them and created a realistic illusion about them. The singular darkness of the cloak transformed into a simple pitch of black, without any sign of anomaly or anything out of the ordinary.

The gems embedded on the bracelet were transformed into simple low-quality jewelry. The ring's changing property was reduced to simple reflections of the sun. Finally, the illusion on the orbs integrated them perfectly with the environment, making them completely invisible to human sight.

Having hidden both the auras and their unique appearances, I doubt anyone would be interested in them at first glance.

Once finished with the concealment part, I used the 'Infinite Space Bracelet' to store the lamp, and to compress the size of the cloak; turning the large cloak into a small ribbon that I also tied on my left wrist.

With all the preparations ready, I controlled the 36 orbs to monitor my surroundings, looking for possible dangers and adverse situations.

After completing all the safety preparations, I dived back into the ring in search of transportation that could shorten our travel time.

The most comfortable and fastest thing I have is a flying boat, but even if I squeeze myself all out, I wouldn't have enough energy to manipulate it, so it's out of the question. There are also the flying swords that I can manipulate easily; but standing for hours on a sword doesn't sound welcoming at all; and I also can't last long with the few strands of Qi I have left.

Apart from those, there is nothing left but a luxurious car; The only problem is that I don't have any mount that can power it.

'Shit, I wish Shadow was here; could …'

'It's true, I haven't even contacted him.'

From my ring, I removed a sheet of paper along with the same brush that I used to write the note I left for the Lan Clan patriarch. I wonder if they are still chasing Ye Xiu; the patriarch might have already been possessed by someone else, who knows. It would have been easier if I still had control over the bitch's 'Xin Yi Brain Worm', it's a shame the link was severed by the reset.

I wrote a note and kept it inside the bracelet. I created a mental password that only Shadow would know and gave the other bracelet wearer access. If he is still alive, he will contact me; and if he doesn't, there can only be two possibilities. Either he is dead, or he has abandoned me.

'It's not that I treated him badly, on the contrary, I think he is happy to be my minion.'

Sigh, either option is good; he's been useful to me for a long time, so letting he rest wouldn't hurt either.

Putting aside my minion's survival, I refocused on the heavy choice I had to make.

'...'

'There is no choice, I will have to use the flying sword; With luck, I can last until nightfall'

My back is going to hurt from maintaining the posture, but it is the most effective way. Well, all the preparations are done, all that remains is to leave. Fixing my eyes on Hui Ying, I saw her standing behind me, with the bowls and chopstick in her hand.

Seeing me looking at her, she smiled awkwardly and said:

"They were delicious, what do I do with the cutlery?"

With a mental order from me, the dishes were stored in my space ring. I could have kept them in the bracelet, but I already tried that a long time ago. Someone very stubborn doesn't let me put 'useless' elements in it.

I removed a long, wide heavy sword from the ring, and stood on top of it. Turning my gaze towards Hui Ying, I said:

"Come on."

 "But…"

'? What will she want this time?'

"Yes?"

"Well, …, do you plan to go like this?"

"Eh? What do you mean?"

Hearing her words, I doubted if something was wrong with me. I looked at myself and didn't see anything strange. What is she referring to?

"…the blood in your head."

With his words, I realized that there was a trace of blood from the blows earlier.

I removed a vessel from the ring and wiped away the dried blood stains. As I wiped away the blood, I reflected on the elements of my ring. I have many things inside the ring, with a great variety of each; but I don't have anything like a plane or car.

All elements move or function through Qi, they haven't advanced much technologically speaking. I wonder if the current situation will bring some positive changes.

After finishing washing, I got back on the big flying sword, waiting for Hui Ying to get on too.

"…, are you going to be dressed like that?"

Realizing what she meant, I slapped my hand over my face. Is it possible that I have become dumber because of the drop in cultivation? I looked around and found the black robe in the place where she rested before.

After dressing properly, I turned to her and asked:

"Anything else?"

"Mmm, nothing at the moment."

With a more relaxed attitude, she mounted the sword, and grabbed me tightly.

Sigh, all my simulated anger has gone down the drain. I don't even have the strength to worry about her, my current mental state worries me much more.

Let's see, behind me are the gates of the Si Xian sect; According to my memories, the location of the 'Tear of the Heavenly Soul' should be west of my current location. There will be some obstacles, but they won't be a big problem.

With a simple thought, the flying sword rose into the sky, quickly accelerating towards the location of the treasure.
