Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Heavenly Court.

'The Heavenly Court.'

Quite an imposing name, although they have a right to be. They were founded before I was born and are still valid today. Storybooks tell that they were originally founded as a meeting place for cultivators to trade and share information. That in itself is a great achievement. Since the cultivators of millennia ago were not as peaceful as now. At that time, cultivators reigned above any ordinary human, as if they were gods.

They killed each other in the pursuit of power. The emergence of The Heavenly Court was like a breath of cool breeze in summer. To enter it, it was necessary to comply with a series of rules; one of them being the prohibition of the murdered. Many were dissatisfied with these rules, so they decided to ignore them. The consequence was the public execution of the offender.

The infamy of The Heavenly Court gradually increased, attracting more members. After years of development, the capabilities of its members increased significantly, reaching an astronomical number of cultivators. With power in hand, they announced themselves as the organization that would maintain order in the world. They wrote rules that you had to follow literally; and that, if you failed to comply, you would be persecuted by all its members as a criminal.

Some thought their goals were total control of the continent. But they didn't, instead they set rules that protected normal humans from cultivators. During that time, they were considered the symbol of justice by many. Earning everyone's respect.

Sadly, today its members are not what they once were. Many try to stay together, but there will always be some who allow themselves to be dominated by their greed. While they no longer have as pure a purpose as they once did, they are still considered the largest and strongest organization in existence.

That's the place I'm going right now. I, whose face is printed on all the wanted ads they issue, voluntarily enter their base. They, who are considered the strongest organization, cannot win against a single person.

They tried to kill me on multiple occasions but failed each time. They managed to seriously wound me multiple times, but they never managed to completely finish me off. All this persecution was not without reason, as I destroyed a corrupt branch that was managed by one of its members.

After managing to increase my power sufficiently, I destroyed the mine of elemental crystals from which I escaped. I chased its members one by one; I swore not to stop until I finished off the last rats. As if she were the goddess of luck smiling on me, every time I wiped out a branch of this organization, a stronger power would emerge behind it.

The only word that can express my state at that moment was 'shit'. Why does a simple village organization have connections with so many forces? It's illogical.

This game of cat and mouse took me to The Heavenly Court. Although I was not the smartest in my youth, I was aware that it would be impossible for me to complete my goal without sufficient power. Because of this, I disguised myself and waited for years, accumulating strength just to finish off those wretches.

At that time, I took refuge in the homes of many people I considered friends, looking for a rest and a safe place. Sadly, at that moment I realized that I never really had a true friend. Each one of them betrayed me to the Court. I didn't blame them for it; since, if my whereabouts were discovered, they would all end up dead. But that doesn't mean I would forgive their betrayals.

After years of hiding like a scared mouse, I managed to accumulate enough strength to finish my revenge. I appeared in front of their headquarters and announced that, if they did not bring me the culprits they were trying to hide, I would destroy each of their members, regardless of their age or sex.

My outburst caused chaos unprecedented in the history of its founding. Countless cultivators came out from their headquarters and tried to kill me, but I finished off every one of them. They did not relent until the entire city was dyed bloody red. My title Blood Demon Mo was given to me because of this incident. At the end of it all, they dragged a boy in front of me. It turned out that he was the firstborn of one of its founders. In front of the crowd that looked at me with fearful eyes, I tortured the guilty of my suffering.

After this incident, The Court appeared to persecute me so as not to lose the reputation they had accumulated over the years. But internally, they would run away if they heard my name. They described the incident as: 'A mad demon assaults the headquarters of The Heavenly Court.' They did not mention the reason for the massacre, nor the losses they suffered; Unfortunately for them, many of the spectators who were present that day spread the truth.

From my current point of view, Mo Hei Xin's existence could be interpreted as that of an antihero. It is ironic to see that after a long life of suffering and challenges; his life would be taken by the hands of a cliché novel 'hero' like Ye Xiu.

According to the novel, in a few months the son of the current leader of The Heavenly Court will ask for an exchange of blows against Ye Xiu due to the rumors that were circulating around his fiancée. As a result of getting together with the protagonist, he lost his fiancée at the hands of Ye Xiu; destroyed his Dan Tian; and his father, blinded by revenge, would end up dead. Unable to accept the facts, he committed suicide with remorse. Unlike other villains, the boy did not do any evil acts. The only thing that caused his downfall was the presence of the MC.

I wonder if hanging out with the MC can cause massive neuron loss. Part of my future plan is to take this unfortunate boy as a disciple and teach him.

I will have him kill with his own hands the person who will ruin his life. A smile appeared on my face; I had the feeling of supporting my past self.

After an extensive journey, I arrived at the headquarters of The Celestial Court. I flew to the top of the city, and shouted, "Zheng Wei!"

As soon as I said his name, he introduced himself before me. Despite being over a thousand years old, he still maintains a youthful face.

"What do you want, Demon Mo?"

I could feel the frustration and fear in his words. This is because one of the survivors of my massacre that day was him. Unlike the fearful boy from before, he now looked at me bravely. I smiled internally seeing how he tried to hide his fear.

"I have a deal for you."

"Why would I make a deal with the devil?"

"Do you want to be nicknamed as the hero who kill the Great Demon that terrorized this continent for years?"

"…"

I saw the disbelief in his eyes as he heard my words. Since I have decided to leave, I prefer to go as unnoticed as I can.

"I just want you to promise me two conditions."

"…, Which?"

"I want you to protect my disciples from harm, if I find out that they have lost even a strand of hair, I will spread the carnage outside this small city."

I purposely emitted a bit of my killing intent, to convey the seriousness of my words. I don't want him to take me as a joke, or to neglect this task.

"Why don't you take him if you love him so much?"

I made an annoyed expression and said, "You don't have to know why, just go with it."

"I agree."

"Take this talisman; 'Remember', if something comes up that you can't handle, let me know."

He reluctantly accepted my words with a nod.

"And which is the other condition?"
