Raven, Lyra, and Eira retreated from the ruins, determined to come up with a plan to defeat Nyx and rescue Kaelara and Lirien. As they fled, they noticed that the shadows seemed to be growing longer and darker, as if Nyx's powers were spreading.
"We need to get out of here," Lyra said, her voice urgent. "We can't let her catch up to us."
Raven nodded, his eyes fixed on the shadows. "Agreed. Let's get back to the city and regroup."
As they approached the city gates, they saw that they were not alone. A group of city guards were gathered outside, looking worried and scared.
"What's going on?" Raven asked one of them.
The guard hesitated. "It's... it's Nyx's influence," he said. "She's been spreading darkness all over the city. People are falling under her control."
Raven's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
The guard glanced around nervously. "I don't know what she's doing, but... but I think she's using mind control or something. People are acting strange, like they're under some kind of spell."
Eira's eyes widened. "That means we have to act fast," she said. "We can't let her control our minds too."
Raven nodded grimly. "We need to find a way to counter her magic. Lyra, can you work with the city mages to figure out what's going on?"
Lyra nodded. "I'll do my best," she said.
As they entered the city, Raven couldn't shake the feeling that they were running out of time. Kaelara and Lirien were still in danger, and he knew that if they didn't act fast, they would be lost forever.
