As they stepped through the doorway, Lirien felt a rush of exhilaration mixed with trepidation. The orbs, each about the size of a fist, hovered in mid-air, casting an ethereal glow over the cavernous space. Eira's eyes shone with wonder as she reached out to touch one of the orbs, her fingers brushing against its smooth surface.
"Wow!" she breathed. "They're so... alive!"
Arin's eyes narrowed. "I don't like this," she said. "These orbs are giving me the creeps."
Kael's gaze was more analytical. "We need to figure out what these orbs are and what they're doing here," he said.
Lirien felt an inexplicable connection to the orbs, as if they were calling to her. She reached out a hand, hesitantly at first, and touched one of the orbs.
The moment her skin made contact, the orb began to glow brighter, and Lirien felt a surge of energy course through her body. She closed her eyes, and suddenly, visions flooded her mind.
She saw ancient civilizations, long-forgotten rituals, and mysterious artifacts. She saw a world where magic was woven into the very fabric of existence. And she saw a dark force threatening to unravel it all.
The visions faded, leaving Lirien breathless and disoriented. The others turned to her, concerned.
"Lirien?" Arin asked, her voice soft.
Lirien shook her head, trying to clear the cobwebs. "I... I saw things," she said. "Ancient civilizations... magic... danger."
Eira's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That means we're on the right track!" she exclaimed.
Kael's expression turned serious. "We need to be careful," he said. "Whatever is going on here, it's bigger than we can handle alone."
As they stood there, frozen in indecision, the orbs began to move, drifting closer together like tiny celestial bodies drawn to a center.
