Alina's heart raced as she took in the sight of Evan standing in front of her. His presence was unexpected, and confusion clouded her mind.
"Evan, what are you doing here?" she asked, her voice trembling. "How did you know I was here? Are you here to rescue me?"
Evan scratched his head nervously, avoiding her gaze.
"Or are you also part of this?" she asked, her confusion turning into suspicion.
"I'm sorry," he began, his voice shaky. "It's the only way I could think of to get you to stop seeing Marcus."
"You're crazy," Alina said, despair evident in her tone. "You're all crazy."
"I'm sorry, Alina, but it's for your own good," Evan said, taking a step closer to her, his hand reaching out.
"Don't touch me!" she exclaimed, backing away. "You're crazy. Stay away from me."
"Okay, okay," he said, raising his hands in surrender and stepping back. "I can see you're upset. Maybe we can talk when you're calm."
