Sasha stormed out of Alina's house, her mind a whirlwind of anger and confusion. She couldn't believe what she had heard. "What does Alina mean that Evan is the one chasing her?" The thought gnawed at her, twisting her stomach into knots.
Without wasting another second, she pulled out her phone and called Evan. His voice came through, steady but preoccupied. "Hey, Sasha. I'm really busy right now. My father is having a meeting with the pack. I'll be tied up until late tonight."
Sasha bit back her frustration, forcing her voice to remain calm. "Alright, we'll talk later then." She ended the call, but her resolve only hardened. She needed to confront him face-to-face, to look into his eyes and hear the truth from his lips.
Back home, Sasha's grandfather immediately sensed her worry. "What's the matter?" he asked, his voice gentle but probing.
