The night air crackled with tension, the crescent moon casting eerie shadows over the forest clearing. Evan's fists clenched as he glared at his pack, the frustration bubbling inside him until it finally exploded.
"You all are just dimwits!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the trees.
James, his Beta, stepped forward, his eyes flashing with anger. "Don't talk to us like that," he snapped, the words biting as he squared up to Evan.
"And if I did, what will you do? I'm your Alpha," he roared, the authority in his voice undeniable.
But James didn't back down. "Yes, you are," he conceded, his voice steady, "and I'm your Beta and best friend. But you're getting out of line. Maybe I should report to your father that you're using the pack for your personal issues."
