Alina slowly opened her eyes, her head pounding with a dull ache. She struggled to sit up, her muscles weak and trembling.
Marcus was right beside her, his expression a mix of relief and concern as he gently helped her to her feet.
"My head hurts," Alina groaned, clutching her temples. "What happened, Marcus? I blacked out."
"It's okay, everything's fine now," Marcus reassured her, his voice soft as he steadied her.
But Alina shook her head, her eyes narrowing. "No, everything is not fine. Tell me the truth. What did I do? I can handle it."
Marcus hesitated, his gaze dropping for a moment before meeting hers. "You… you killed the two werewolves your dad sent to get you. And… and Stephan too."
Alina's breath caught in her throat. "What? I killed all those people? But… how? I don't remember any of it."
