"What is really your goal?" I asked, injecting doubt to make her aware of my stance.
"I don't want to tell you. As long as you and your family are safe, our pact remains valid."
"And why are you here?"
I still had plenty of questions swirling in my head. I wanted to know why she was with the demi-humans. How was Luna doing? Where was Luna?
Though I wanted to ask these questions, I couldn't press her. I didn't know what she might do to Luna's body. As long as Luna's body was healthy and not in danger, I could deal with her later after resolving my immediate concerns.
"As I said, I have a mission here. Nothing more. I'll deal with the trash, and then you can continue with whatever you were doing." She lay back on the bed, a smile curling up on her lips.
I was at a loss for what to do next. My plans involved ensuring my family knew I was safe.
