Ethan and Luna decided to take things slow and focus on rebuilding their trust. They started by spending time together, just the two of them, and talking about their feelings and experiences. Ethan was patient and gentle, making sure to listen to Luna's concerns and validate her emotions.
As they spent more time together, Ethan noticed that Luna was opening up to him in ways she hadn't before. She was sharing stories about her past, her fears, and her dreams. Ethan felt like he was getting to know her on a deeper level, and he was grateful for the chance to be there for her.
One day, as they were walking through the school courtyard, Luna turned to him with a serious expression.
"Ethan, I need to tell you something," she said. "I've been thinking a lot about what happened with the orb, and I'm not sure I'm ready to forgive you yet."
Ethan's heart sank, but he nodded understandingly. "I understand," he said. "I don't expect you to forgive me overnight. Just being honest with me is a big step for you, and I appreciate it."
Luna nodded, looking relieved. "Yeah, I know. It's just...I'm still trying to process everything that happened. And I need some time to figure out what I want."
Ethan nodded again. "I get it," he said. "Take all the time you need. I'll be here for you when you're ready to talk."
As they walked in silence for a while, Ethan realized that this was exactly what he needed - patience and understanding. He knew that rushing things would only push Luna further away.
Just as they were about to part ways, Kaida appeared beside them.
"Hey, guys," she said, looking at them with a curious expression. "What's going on?"
Luna glanced at Ethan before turning back to Kaida. "Just having a heart-to-heart with Ethan," she said dryly.
Kaida's eyes narrowed. "Oh? About what?"
Ethan shrugged. "Just getting some things off our chests," he said.
Kaida's gaze lingered on him for a moment before she nodded. "Cool," she said. "I'll leave you two alone then."
As Kaida walked away, Ethan turned back to Luna.
"Thanks for being honest with me," he said.
Luna smiled slightly. "Thanks for understanding," she said.
Ethan smiled back, feeling a sense of hope and possibility.
