The sun had set by the time Kael finally took Rosa back to the second princess's palace. She had thought that riding behind him on his horse would be more comfortable for both of them, but she hadn't anticipated the tingling sensation where his body pressed against hers all the way back. The way he seemed to move deliberately slowly and not say a word only intensified the pressure on her body.

When they finally arrived at the palace grounds, the first thing she spotted was Silver's hair in the back garden near her carriage.
