Rosa would give credit to Kael; after his little show of throwing out the noisy daughter of a Count, the gossip that had been rudely loud all around had toned down into less understandable murmurs.
"Count Highmore's daughter turned out to be such a beauty. What was her father thinking, giving her hand to a much older man?" One noblewoman murmured softly from afar.
"What are you saying? Age was never a factor in political marriage, only a privilege. Who would've thought that the Marquess was involved in so many shady things?" Answered another.
"The horror! But… what is he being accused of precisely?" Said a third.
"Well, since today's court's second accused is his own mistress, I believe that we should prepare ourselves for something indecent."
All of the gossipers chuckled together at that.
