The recognition of her rival's voice made Rosa frown. It irked her to no end that he would follow her this far.
"Duke Dragomir," she forced a calmer tone as she stood up and smoothed her glove back into place, her teeth gritted. "Your information source is admirable, and your speed is most impressive."
Kael smiled but it didn't reach his hazel eyes. "Thank you, Lady Highmore. Just mind what you say. I'm a mere Duke with the same access to information as any other noble."
She kept her gaze steady refusing to blink. It bothered her to feel belittled and subtly be cautioned against revealing his identity as a guild master while she guarded hers fiercely.
Kael glanced away briefly clearing his throat before offering a smile. "What brings a beautiful lady like you to a place like this?"
She let her eyes water. "I've lost someone important to me a few days ago."
"...A man?"
