Rosa did not rush to check on the princess the way a noble lady was supposed to. Instead, she remained hidden and waited for Evelina to regain her composure and leave on her own. Once she was sure the princess had gone, Rosa tried to sit up only to grit her teeth in frustration as she found herself being pulled back onto Kael's lap.
"Keep quiet and hold still," he whispered then tensed, "Otherwise, more than one problem will arise, Lady Highmore."
She could only imagine the size of the problem that might arise beneath her and not daring to cross that line with him, she obeyed, enduring a few agonizingly long moments filled with confusing flushes of heat in the lower parts of her stomach while she waited. All of that heat vanished, replace by her feelings of utter stupidity when he started chuckling behind her.
