Chapter 8
Seongjin suddenly stopped, a smirk playing on his lips. "I'll join your crew," he said, "alongside my own men."
Peter and Johan exchanged surprised glances. Seongjin's eyes narrowed. "But remember the promise you made. We fight for our freedom against the Monsters."
With Seongjin and his crew on board, they were down to the last person. A few more days passed, and there was still no sign of Jiwoo, which worried Peter. They gathered to discuss their final recruit.
"We need one more guy," Seongjin said. "And I know just who. He's a fight maniac, but he's got brains too. Nathan Lee, a Capoeira and Taekwondo specialist."
They found Nathan at an arcade, his red hair slicked back, green eyes focused on the game before him. He looked up, surprised to see such formidable fighters approach. "Are you guys here to get crippled?" he asked with a sarcastic laugh.
Peter stepped forward. "We want you to join our crew. We're going to unify Gangnam once again."
Nathan burst out laughing. "I'll join."
Peter blinked, taken aback. "Aren't you going to fight us first?"
"Do I look like a fool?" Nathan grinned. "Fight all of you? Nah, I like your offer of taking over Gangnam. Count me in."
Peter discreetly peeked at Nathan's stats:
Name: Nathan Lee
Age: 19
Height: 6'2"
Strength: SSR
Speed: UR
Stamina: UR
Endurance: SSR
Intelligence: S+
Potential: S
"Impressive," Peter thought. He extended his hand. "Welcome to the crew, Nathan."
As they shook hands, Peter's system pinged. He'd completed the third part of his quest: Build Your Own Crew of 5 Men. Only, Jiwoo was still missing. Where could he be?
"So," Nathan said, breaking into Peter's thoughts, "when do we start taking down the Riders?"
Johan and Seongjin looked to Peter. He nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. "We start now."
