Reaching his car, Damien felt a trigger in his heart through the bond.
Suddenly, an overwhelming force of emotion hit him.
His body shuddered and he stumbled, bracing his hand on the side of the vehicle.
"Skai," he rasped, his heart aching, his breathing laboured.
Without any second thoughts, he pivoted on his heels, taking long strides in a hurry from the parking lot and heading back in the direction he had just left her.
"Damn it," Damien cursed, brushing through the crowd, his teeth gritting.
Whatever was happening, it was bad. He knew it. Skai was in a kind of danger and he hated that he had only left her.
