[At the Hokage's office]
Tsunade sat at her desk in the Hokage's office, her hands clasped together, elbows resting on the polished wooden surface. The events that had unfolded just hours ago replayed in her mind.
A Shinobi from the Hidden Rain had brought his dying mother to Konoha, hoping for a miracle. Despite her expertise, Tsunade had been unable to save the woman. Yet, in an astonishing twist of fate, the Shinobi had awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan and brought his mother back to life before collapsing from exhaustion.
Kakashi stood by the window, gazing out at the village. "I've never seen anything like it," he said quietly. "The Mangekyo Sharingan's powers are formidable, but resurrection? That's a first."
Tsunade sighed. "We've only scratched the surface of what these eyes can do. It's no wonder so many feared the Uchiha clan."
Kakashi turned, his single visible eye reflecting concern. "What do we do with him? And his mother? This kind of power... it's dangerous."
"Shizune is looking after the mother," Tsunade replied. "Her chakra seems stable now, and the disease is gone. But the boy… we need to keep a close watch on him. I've assigned five ANBU to guard him. When he wakes up, we'll need answers."
Kakashi nodded. "I'll stay with him too. He's been through a lot, and he came here in peace. But his origins are troubling. A Hidden Rain Shinobi with Uchiha blood... it's almost unheard of."
The room fell silent as they both contemplated the implications. Kana's final words to her son revealed that Kenshin had a sister whom they believe to have died alongside his father. 'What if..... Akane is that sister? No, it couldn't be. Ichiro never mentioned having a son. Not to mention we're not yet sure if Ichiro is his father.' Kakashi thought, his single visible brow furrowed.
After a few moments, Tsunade spoke again. "If what he said is true, he might have closer ties to the leaf than we thought. We cannot let the hidden rain have someone like him, not with the rain's reputation."
Kakashi crossed his arms. "We need to find out more about him and his father."
Just then, Shizune entered the room, her face a mix of relief and exhaustion. "The mother is resting. Her vitals are strong, and the disease appears to be completely gone. Whatever he did, it worked."
"Good," Tsunade said. "But we can't let our guard down. Keep monitoring her. We don't know if there might be any lingering effects."
Shizune nodded. "Understood. And the boy?"
Tsunade glanced at Kakashi. "We'll question him as soon as he wakes up. For now, we need to make sure he's stable too. The strain of using such a powerful jutsu could have serious consequences."
As Shizune left, Tsunade leaned back in her chair, rubbing her temples. "This isn't just about one person. The Hidden Rain has always been problematic, and now we have someone with the power of resurrection tied to them. The political ramifications could be enormous."
Kakashi's gaze was steady. "We'll handle it. For now, we should focus on the boy and his mother. We need to learn more about his abilities."
Tsunade nodded slowly. "Agreed. But we proceed with caution. The last thing we need is another conflict."
Hours later, Kenshin stirred in his bed. The ANBU on guard immediately alerted Tsunade and Kakashi. They arrived at his bedside as he opened his eyes, disoriented and weak.
"Where... where's my mother? Did you bury her already?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.
"She's safe," Tsunade assured him. "You saved her. She's recovering."
Kenshin's eyes filled with anger and confusion. "You think this is some kind of a joke?!"
Kakashi sat beside him. "Calm down. Your Mangekyo Sharingan awakened, and you used its power. It's rare and dangerous, but somehow, you managed to bring her back."
Kenshin's expression changed, filled with a mix of relief and confusion. "Resurrection? I knew that the mangekyo sharingan was powerful but this is too much!" He thought as he considered the implications of someone like Pain or Obito or Danzo finding out about it.
Tsunade exchanged a look with Kakashi. "We need to to know about your father, what was his name?"
Kenshin shook his head, knowing that the leaf was the best place for him right now. "His name was Ichiro Uchiha. As for my sister, mom called her Kyoko, but my father wanted to name her Akane.
So they decided to just name her one and use the other as a nickname, although I'm not sure which is which. And Hokage-sama? Please keep my ability a secret. I don't want unnecessary trouble."
"I understand," Tsunade promised. "But for now, you need to rest and recover. Your powers are extraordinary, but they come at a cost."
Kenshin nodded, exhaustion overtaking him once more. As he drifted back to sleep, Tsunade and Kakashi stepped outside the room.
"This is just the beginning," Tsunade said. "You look like you know something. Go ahead, say it."
Kakashi nodded. "Ichiro Uchiha, he had a daughter. Akane Uchiha. She happened to be outside the Uchiha clan compound on the night of the massacre and therefore survived it. But I've never heard of neither Ichiro mention having a son, nor did Akane mention anything about a brother."
Tsunade considered his words and after a moment to silence, she spoke again. "Bring Akane to them tomorrow. Whether she's truly related to them, we need to confirm it ourselves."
As they walked out of the office, the weight of the situation hung heavy in the air.
