"Oh, please, let's be realistic here." The old man shrugged. "Stella is a recessive omega, and you never reached out for almost two years. Do you think anyone would be at ease? Did you think she didn't wonder if you had already forgotten her or even gotten married? Then came Mr. Jones, a billionaire and the first prince of the royal family, willingly wanting to make her his wife. What makes you think she wouldn't choose him over you? Don't be naive."
Vincent's fingers twitched, his gaze attached to the floor. "Stella is not like that. She would never toss me aside merely because of that. That man is a fucking beast, everyone knows it. Why would she ever agree to it?"
"Beats me." Mr. Ferguson's smile broadened. "If you don't believe me, you might as well go see for yourself. What goes through that girl's head, I have no idea. I mean, she could have said no, but she didn't."
