It was something she had seen quite often while growing up. They would lash out at her, only to feel remorse the next for having gone to far.
Even Joe her father did it to Julia her mother not to mention them.
'I guess burning hot and cold really runs in this family,' Tahra thought wondering why she had been so surprised in the first instance.
"Tahra! We didn't mean for things to get out of hand. You're still our daughter!'
"Your mother is right! Go back inside. I'll convince Zane to recind the order. Just because he no longer wants you doesn't mean he can send you away!" Joe her father spoke up with a softer look on his face.
Herret couldn't help it as her eyes widened in shock.
'Wh-what the hell are they playing at?' Herret thought to herself knowing that she wouldn't have been able to believe the sight in front of her if she hadn't been standing there.
Having seen the stunt they pulled at the ceremony, Herret was convinced that there was something terribly wrong with them if they thought it was okay.
"An alpha's order is absolute! Even if he retracts it, it won't be so soon! I'm leaving. I'm going to District A. Its pretty close so you can still reach me if you want!" Tahra softly responded even as she felt tears pool in her eyes.
The pain they had caused was fresh but that was the more reason why Tahra couldn't completely cut them off like she had planned.
'I have no body! They are my family. They might not love me completely but a little is enough!'
"I should get going!" Tahra continued getting into the car and closing the door behind her, with her eyes fixed on the driver as she waited for them to move the cars out of her way.
For a couple of minutes, Tahra watched in silence as they spoke amongst themselves without any of them making any attempt to move the cars but that was until she finally saw her father wave his hand.
For a split scond, Tahra's heart thrummed in pain as new tears pooled in her eyes.
'What was i expecting?' She thought realizing that if they had asked and insisted she would have stayed. Something that only made her hate herself a little more.
'Family don't act this way Tahra! They don't love you!' Herret wanted to say the second the car began to move and she realized that Tahra was secretly wiping her eyes with the back of her hands as she turned her gaze away from her, but she couldn't.
'Maybe they do love you, they're just bad at it,' Herret thought unable to fathom how parents wouldn't be able to love their child and go out of their way to harm them.
"Its fine Herret! Your thoughts are written all over your face," Tahra suddenly opened her mouth to speak to Herret's surprise.
"They love me but they just love my sister way more and thats fine!" Tahra explained meaning every word. Knowing that it was already an idea she was used to and she was the foolish one for thinking there was anyone who would put her first.
"Are-are you really going to District A?"
"Yeah. I would have picked M if I wasn't worried that I would die and no one would even hear about it," Tahra replied as she settled back in her seat prepared for the three hours journey she had left.
Glad that according to the treaties between territories, she would be labelled rogue.

"I'm leaving!" Zane harshly whispered to his father for thesecond time since he announced the ending of the ceremony.
After been officially announced as the Alpha of the pack, he met with some high ranking members and finally chose to leave only to be tied down by one thing after the other.
Yet, what pissed him off the most was the way the all acted like nothing was wrong and everything was right with the world.
"I've done my part! They can contact me later!" Zane said barely keeping his anger checked as he watched Xion move closer to introduce another ordinary pack member to him for the tenth time.
"This is important! The people must meet their leader!" Xion spoke up, speaking in a way that everyone that stood around could easily understand him.
" I agree! The alpha has a duty to the pack," Perri, his step mother also spokeup with a warm smile on her face as she also stood beside another pack member waiting to introduce her.
"Moreover now that the Luna spot has been left unoccupied, the Alpha has to mingle more," She continued in a voice that was just as loud which caused even more female members of the pack to move closer to him.
Wanting to try their luck with the newly single Alpha of the district.
Alpha Zane could only grit his teeth together as the smile on his face widened even more, one that was frightfully cold and didn't by any means reach his eyes.
The fact that he wasn't able to use sicknes to get out of the situation he was in, for fear of looking weak pissed him off more as he went ahead to shake the people his half-brother and step-mother brought until he finally found a chance to leave.
A chance he immediately took, asking his father to cover for him in as low a tone as he could muster before dashing into his car and calling Talon at the same time.
Extremely worried after seeing a couple of missed calls from Talon who he had placed in charge Tahra.
"Where is she?" Zane asked the second Talon picked, the urgency in his tone, extremely clear. Only, to become agitated the second he heard that that Tahra had already left her house and was on her way to out of the district.
"I need her current gps location Talon! I told you to stall!" Zane said unable to help but raise his voice at him through the phone right before he hung up and started the car.
A minute had barely gone by when he received a notification on his phone, satisfied to see that it was the location he asked for, even if he was a little annoyed by the message that accompanied it.
"Whatever you do, make sure you're not seen with her!"
