Chapter 4 - Breathe…

Tahra immediately jumped on her bed the second she got back to her room.

It was 3:00pm in the afternoon and she still had until 3:Am the next day before she had to get ready.

Her dress had been prepared and stored away and it wasn't until the break of dawn the following day that the ceremony would be performed.

"There's only around 8 more hours! 8 more hours and I would officially become Luna. I'll live with Zane and never have to see my miserable family again," Tahra mumbled under her breath.

The duties of a Luna were numerous but what Tahra was confident of was the fact that she would support Zane as best as she could.

Her mind was still focused on it when she raised her right hand to touch the ring on her index finger.

The one that showed that she belonged to the Faldel family.

'I might not be as pretty as Maeve but that's not enough reason for you to despise me,' Tahra thought thinking of her parents whom she was confident had zero love for her.

"Regardless! This time tomorrow I'll be free," she thought as she lowered her hand and turned to lie on her belly.

Preparing to take a short nap before it was time for Herret her best friend to visit.

Surprising, the next time Tahra woke up was nightfall, shocked to open her eyes and realize that her room was completely dark.

Her curtains were open and the darkness she saw outside was what terrified her even more unable to fathom how she could have slept for so long.

'Tha-what smell is that?' Tahra wondered raising herself off the bed only to realize that she was too weak to do so.

Her bones seemed to have been submerged in metal and she could barely move a single muscle in her limbs.

Tahra immediately began to panic as many thoughts began to thru through her mind.

'I promised to do as he asked! He wouldn't go as far as to make me miss the ceremony!'

'I can't miss it! If I do, the pack members would only hate me more and reject me!' Tahra cursed under her breath, as she found it just as hard to open her eyes fully and look around the dark room.

'I-I'm still in my room! Even if Maeve poisoned me, the fact that I'm still at home is good,' Tahra thought trying to calm her breath only for her heart to start thumpinh again the second she realized that she wasn't alone.

"Wh-who are you?" Tahra asked in a low whisper, the second she spotted the dark silhouette by the door as she found it impossible to raise her voice.

She didn't have to wait long before the person stepped closer, inch by inch until they stood directly in front of her, lowering themselves to her height.

"Dre-Drey!" Tahra called out, feeling a little relieved even if he was the last person she wanted in her room.

"Something's wrong! I-I feel weak!"

"Really? That's good then! If I had moved a little quieter you won't have woken up!"

"Wha-what are you saying?" Tahra gasped trying to process his words even as her thoughts began to slow down and her vision slowly began to spin.

"I've always found you to be attractive, I'm sure you know that!"

"I'M- I'M your sister!" Tahra tried to screamed but her voice only came out in form of a hoarse whisper.

"Hmmmm!!! Then you should have a good nap sister!"

"Drey! We can talk about this! Whatever you're doing, whatever this isâ€"" Tahra began to say having realized that something was terribly wrong.

Her body slowly began to heat up and she could barely keep herself conscious.

But she was still speaking when she suddenly heard Drey shake his head, chuckling loudly with a clearly amused expression on his face.

"What are you talking about sister! What's going on in that hard head of yours!" he chuckled loudly as he spoke.

Tahra wanted to desperately say more, only to feel her vision darken before she could gain more strength.

'He-he's a maniac but he wouldn't dare! He wouldn't dare!' Tahra thought, as she felt tears slid out of her eyes right before felt nothing.

The next time she would wake up, was to hear Maeve's voice yelling at her and heavy hands pushing against her shoulder.

"Hey!! Are you deaf!!!! Are you fucking deaf!!! Wake up!!! You're going to be late!!!!!"

It took a good couple of seconds for Tahra to process her words as she laid on the bed, recalling the bad dream she seemed to have had.

"We need to go!!! The cars are already waiting downstairs!! How could you oversees!!!" Maeve yelled and this time around Tahra understood it.

Her eyes darting open as she moved the bed cover on top of her off, squinting at the bright light in her room.

'A dream?' she wondered only to feel a sort of heaviness in her body that seemed to remain.

Tahra instantly dropped to the ground and dashed to the bathroom, a cutting the door behind her before Maeve could enter.

"Hey!!!! You're already late!!!! You better let me come in and help you!!!!" Maeve yelled at her but Tahra wasn't listening.

Her eyes widening in fear and horror as she glanced at the bathroom mirror and saw some red tiny dots all over her neck.

Tahra immediately tore open her clothes and her underwear, placing her hands between her legs as her heart thrilled in horrific fear.

She felt no pain and everything felt okay but Tahra couldn't risk it.

'He-he wouldn't dare!' Tahra thought with tears in her eyes as she sank to the ground only to breathe a deep sigh of relief after confirming that she hadn't been touched.

Never before had she been glad that she hadn't yet slept with Zane or anyone else for that matter.

"Hey!!!!! You only have ten minutes!!!! Any more and you'll be late!!!!" Tahra heard Marve scream from behind the door and she immediately scrambled to her feet, holding the sink for support.

"Breathe!! Tahra Breathe!!! After today, you won't have to see any of them ever again!" Tahra muttered to herself as she started hard at what she was convinced was Hickey's on her skin.

The white dress she was required to wear wouldn't cover it, but Tahra was prepared to use as much make up as she could.

'If this is Drey and father's plan then they've failed!' Tahra thought to herself right before she wondered what Maeve was up to.

'Wouldn't it be better not to wake me up and instead let me miss the ceremony entirely,' Tahra frowned as she slowly began to cover up all the signs on her neck.

Frowning heavily as she wondered what Maeve's part in the master plan was and why she seemed intent on making sure she made it to the ceremony.

But no matter how much she thought about it! She couldn't figure it out.
