-INTRODUCTION
Good morning, folks. Morning... my name is Sugi Andrianto, and well, I'm in the Indonesian Army, aiming to become a general in the Indonesian Army. It's all from my grandpa's stories. My ancestors were part of the Indonesian Army, fighting against the Japanese and Dutch colonizers. Grandpa was a colonel in the army, but he quit after the civil war in Timor-Leste, where too many lives were lost. He had a different view from the generals, so he stepped back and didn't allow my dad to join the military. So, my dad became a regular businessman in Kalimantan. But I stayed in the military, and Dad respected my decision. Grandpa couldn't argue with his grandchild, so he let it be. I'll strive to maintain peace in Indonesia and keep moving forward with this belief.
-FAMILY INTERACTION
After getting dressed in my military uniform, I have to hurry for a briefing. -Sugi: Mom, Dad, I'm heading out because there's a morning briefing.
-Mom: Sugi, have some food before you go out.
-Sugi: I'll grab a sandwich to eat on the way.
-Mom: Don't rush while eating on the road. Be careful.
-Sugi: Okay, Mom. I'll head out now.
-Dad: Sugi, be careful on the road, and remember to come back for dinner.
-Sugi: Got it, Dad. I'm off.
-Dad: Hmm... Be safe.
-MORNING BRIEFING
At the military field, I chat with my buddies who also serve in the military. Frenz: Sugi, morning, make sure to arrive early today. You're usually a bit late.
Sugi: They said there's a morning briefing today.
Herman: Isn't there a briefing every day? Just teasing.
Sugi: Haha, they said today might be a bit different. But we're not sure yet.
Rob: Oh, really, bro? Who told you?
Sugi: It's a secret... haha.
Eri: Rob, don't believe him. He's a big talker. (Everyone laughs.)
Captain Hasan comes out, we all line up neatly, and Captain Hasan conducts the morning briefing as usual. Then, he calls me and a few others to enter the conference room. There's a map of East Kalimantan inside, showing a forest called the Wehea Forest. It indicates some strange occurrences at the red points marked on the map. Weird animals have been spotted at those red points, and there are rumors of development in the area. However, there's no other information available. So, I want you all to go there, check the situation, and report back to me. Get ready, we leave for there tomorrow morning. Everyone responds, "Ready, sir."
After receiving instructions from Captain Hasan.
Frenz: Sugi, want to hang out tonight and discuss this mission?
Sugi: I promised Mom that I would be home for dinner, so I can't stay out tonight. We're leaving tomorrow for who knows how many days. So, I need to be home for dinner tonight.
Herman: Haha, it's hard to convince him, Frenz. Let's go out without him. If anything important comes up, we'll message him.
Sugi: Sure, if it's urgent, just let me know.
After that, they head out for their duties.
-OPERATION
After leaving home, we gather at the military base. Sugi and his friends are immediately instructed to board a military vehicle to head to the Wehea Conservation Forest location. On the way,
Sugi: Frenz, what did you guys discuss last night? I was waiting, but got no updates from you.
Herman: Haha, there was no gathering. Frenz was called by his wife to come back early. Haha.
Frenz: Weren't you supposed to accompany your girlfriend?
Eri: You guys are hopeless. Not like me – I can go out whenever, and no one stops me. (Everyone stares at Eri, a silent Casanova.)
Rob: Right. So, we didn't gather. It's okay; we'll stick to our training plan. It's just some animals, not too dangerous of an operation.
Everyone nods, continuing to chat and joke during the journey. A few hours later, they reach the Wehea Conservation Forest area, and as they descend from the vehicle in the southern part of the forest, the operation begins. They prepare to enter the forest while inspecting the surroundings, and along the way, they sense being watched. Sugi warns them to be cautious, feeling a sense of unease as the forest seems eerily quiet. Everyone agrees and suddenly, they spot a strange, unusually large creature that appears to be a monster. They are shocked when they find a dead monster which, upon closer inspection, turns out to be an oversized bear - a size that's not normal for a bear. Despite the initial shock, they continue deeper into the forest until they suddenly come across a person emerging from the woods, covered in blood and looking very weak. Sugi and his team quickly approach. Sugi: Who are you? What happened to you? Why are you injured like this?
Müller: My name is Dr. Heinrich Müller. I was attacked by the monster in the forest.
Sugi: What kind of monster? Doc...
Muller passed out due to excessive bleeding. Sugi immediately ordered alert status. Be cautious, we must take this doctor to the hospital first. They contacted headquarters to inform them of the situation and arrange for an ambulance. But from the side of the forest, movement was very quiet, as if being pursued, Sugi. Order a warning shot. So they cannot approach. Frenz immediately fired into the air. The movement in the forest immediately stopped. They cautiously retreated from the forest while staying on alert.
Sugi and his friends felt that this operation was beyond their expectations. Something big was definitely about to happen.
Then the ambulance arrived. They promptly arranged for Dr. Muller to be taken to the nearest hospital, and then they quickly returned to headquarters to report this situation to Captain Hasan.
