[Zane's POV]
I looked around as everyone paired up with their partners for training. I noticed Max standing alone, his cold aura keeping everyone at a distance. He didn't seem to be making any effort to approach anyone, and no one seemed brave enough to approach him.
Determined to change that, I decided to pair up with him. As I started walking towards Max, I saw Sophia heading in my direction. She smiled and spoke to me, her voice steady despite the tension in the air.
"Hey, Zane," she said. "Would you be my partner for today's drills? I know we've talked before, and I remember you're focused and skilled. It would be good to have someone reliable."
