The innkeeper was behind the counter, his face pale and anxious. He looked up as Raven and Seraphina approached, a nervous twitch playing at the corner of his mouth.
"Any news?" Raven asked, his voice neutral, but there was a sharpness in his eyes that made the innkeeper flinch.
"I-I'm afraid not, Sir," the innkeeper stammered, wringing his hands together. "The guards searched the premises, but there's no sign of the thief. It's as if they vanished into thin air."
Raven's jaw tightened, though he didn't say anything. Beside him, Seraphina stepped forward, her brow furrowed in thought. "Did anyone hear or see anything that night? Any strange noises? Unusual movements?"
The innkeeper shook his head. "Not a thing, my lady. Everyone was asleep when it happened. The guards are baffled—there were no signs of forced entry, no broken windows, nothing."
