Chapter 7 - Evening Date
...
"Hey, Sister Rei... don't cry so much. Look, I will heal him in a moment~!"
Time to use my skill. Edward's injuries began to heal slowly and within a minute, he was healed completely. He was still unconscious though.
I could have healed him under three seconds too, but I don't wish to declare myself to be a monster, alright?
Sister Rei looked very glad as she checked Edward's injuries and spoke while giving a small smile,
"Lily, thank you. Help me get Edward to his Dorm, please?"
Unable to deny her, we supported the unconscious Edward and left him to the Dorm manager of the Boys Dorm.
Finally! Time for my evening date with Sister Rei!
Although her mood has been brought down by what had happened just earlier...
...
The Capital City's market area was just too big for us two to explore in a day. We only went to a few shops, bought some cheap accessories, ate some snacks from the street stalls and roamed the streets of the Capital City while appreciating its buildings and their architecture.
Even if I had been here some six hundred years ago, it has obviously changed a lot from that chaotic period. It became very prosperous and... luxurious than before.
The Royalty of this Holy Kingdom are said to possess Hero's bloodline... even if I was a virgin till death.
What liars those guys are...
But, they at least deserve praise for developing the City so well. If it was me, I wouldn't have cared this much or spent so much time on it anyways.
Glad to enjoy the fruits of your hard work, you suckers!
Sister Rei began to regain her smile at last as she took some interest in the surrounding stalls.
That was when we heard a shout from behind us.
"I-It's you!! You runt, you were the one who harmed Mary before, right?!"
As the two of us turned to look behind us, a blonde haired blue-eyed man was panting in rage as he eyed us murderously. He was dressed in expensive looking clothes, while three other dudes walked behind him.
Oh, it's the idiot Crown Prince and his posse. The fuck are they doing here??
Ah, it's the Capital, so it's his hometown, right?
Hmmm... I can't act innocent and hope for the onlookers to help me this time. It might have worked in the Village in the past, but it certainly won't work here.
Then, should I flex my muscles a bit? Or, should I make it look like an accident instead?
As I was judging what to do next, Sister Rei's body began to tremble while she held my arm even tighter.
Damn it. Her mood's spoiled again. I must teach this Prince a good lesson then.
From behind the stupid Prince, his other friends began to mock us as well.
"That's right! It's that village girl from before!"
"Mary was so embarrassed at that time..."
"Don't let her go!"
Oho~? Are these guys really blockheads or something??
After what I did the last time, their prestige within the Royal Court had fallen really low. Commoners also don't hold a favorable view of them, not to mention the dissatisfaction of the Queen and the King towards their common lover Mary.
If they did anything right now...
As I was imagining the Crown Prince losing his favor even more, someone shouted from behind the idiotic group.
"M-My Prince! You guys... what are you all doing?!!"
The Crown Prince Julian, along with his three rampaging buddies, Brad, Jean and Claude, all of them turned towards the direction of the high-pitched voice.
And the expression on all of their faces turned into like that of a happy dog.
A short, big breasted lady, with medium-sized black hair and black eyes was angrily looking at the four of them, especially focusing on the Crown Prince as she said,
"Why are you all being so rude towards those girls?! It's unbecoming of you not only as members of Nobility, but also as their seniors at the Academy. Um, Girls... please don't be angry. These guys, they aren't bad by nature. They are just..."
The Crown Prince didn't look fully convinced as he spoke to her in a half pacifying manner,
"M-Mary... why are you being so angry?? I mean... what she did to you last time... h-how could we just..."
But, the Mary girl didn't pay them much attention and kept apologizing to us.
Meh, the chance to harm that stupid Prince went away. And this commoner girl that sneakily took Leena's place as the Crown Prince's fiance, Mary... she isn't really a good person at heart.
After all, I could see the evil intentions in her eyes even now! She's just good at masking it in front of the others.
This whole drama is to prevent the Crown Prince from self imploding any further. And I'm very sure that she has planned to let us suffer at our time in the Academy... just like she did to Leena.
Whatever, I have already lost interest in this farce. I'm out of here.
Grabbing Sister Rei's hand, I pulled her away from the comical group and tried to rebuild our previous good mood.
Of course, whatever those people do next is none of my business. I needed to use trickery to win back in the Village. But, things would be different this time around.
...
Our shopping date was cut short, due to all the crazy crap that happened so far. It was really too much for just our first day here.
Sister Rei looked distracted as we had our lunch and went to bed after trying to check once on Edward, who was still not opening the door for some reason.
Don't tell me that she forgave him already??
Oh, well. It's time for me to attend to something more important.
Rushing back to my room, I locked the door and arranged the bed sheets and pillows in a way that gave the impression of me sleeping within it and prepared myself as i launched the Space Time Magic, Teleport!
Destination- My Mom's's Bedroom!
...
I had timed my arrival to be just before Mom's usual sleeping time and went into the bed while hiding myself a bit to not appear in direct eyesight.
Okay... now just have to lay in waiting... Mom should be coming soon...
The door was soon pushed as a person walked inside with lifeless steps.
Mom... she's looking terrible. I guess she couldn't get used to living without me anymore.
Sorry, Mom. I have to do this to prevent me from losing important people like you. But, I would try to make up for it in the nights.
I promised that I won't abandon you, Mom. And I certainly won't go back on my words. In the worst case scenario, I could just put an illusion on your body and have you be enrolled into the Academy with us!
However... you would struggle to live the life of an adventurer...
Let's put that thought aside for now.
As Mom reached the edge of the bed, I could see tears dripping down her face.
Come on, Mom... I wanted to surprise you too...
But, It's no good like this anymore..!
"Mom? Come inside quickly. I have been waiting for too long already~~."
Mom looked stunned for a while, as if she began to doubt her ears.
She's probably thinking that's she is suffering from delusions or something...
"Mom? Can you hear me?? It's me, your Lily..."
Maybe that had some effect, as Mom soon turned to observe me closely and touched my body over the bed covers.
"L-Lily..?? I-I-It is really you?!!"
Mom lunged at me and embraced me closely to confirm my presence. Seeing her so disturbed and shaken up, I could only pat her head softly as I softly spoke to her,
"It's me, Mom. Sorry to keep you waiting. I wanted to give you a surprise, but... sorry that I hid the fact that I would often visit at nights. A-Are you angry?"
Mom hugged me even tighter, as she shook her head in denial and spoke happily while sobbing,
"I-I am... *sniff*... very happyyy... *sob*... I... I was so... sooo..."
Damn it. I now regret making her sad. Cannot help it. What's done is done anyways...
Hugging her head closer to myself, I kept showering kisses on her forehead, before she calmed down and began to excitedly ask me stuff about my day at the Academy.
However, maybe due to her bad state of mind, lasting for the whole day... she soon fell asleep.
Seriously... she is one troublesome Mother for sure. But... I can't help but like her. She is special after all.
...
A/N: Another hiatus series coming up! Any guesses?
