Chapter 34
Luciana's POV
I was sitting with Jack at a corner in an upscale restaurant, and though there was this serene atmosphere around us, there was still this subtle tension in my demeanor as I sipped my wine.
Ever since the cops came to the mansion to interrogate Jack about the stolen car which was found burning along the road, I just couldn't help shake off the feeling that Jack was getting himself involved into something that was quite dangerous.
However, since this was a date to ease off the tension after my abduction, I didn't want to ruin it with the heaviness in my thoughts.
Afterall, I still needed to convince Jack that I had actually lost my memory of what happened during the time I was abducted. It was the only way I could ensure that the strife between Ellen and me eventually comes to an end.
"What's on your mind?" Jack asked, bringing me back to the consciousness of my environment.
