Chapter 72
Luciana's POV
I watched in the awe as a group of men entered into the warehouse, lugging heavy gallons of petrol, causing a chill to run through me. The sharp, acrid smell filled the air, igniting a deeper, primal sense of fear. It was painfully clear what they intended.
"What… what are you planning to do?" I asked, my voice trembling but defiant. I already knew what was in those cans, but I couldn't stop myself from asking. Some part of me needed to hear it—needed to understand just how far Eugene and Ellen were willing to go.
I was still trying to understand what exactly was in their mind, and why they had decided to be so heartless. These were the same two people I had grown up to relate with as my parents. They were the same people whom I looked up while growing up as a young child, and now all of a sudden they were planning to kill me–for what exactly? I couldn't say.
