Chapter 68
Frank's POV
Fear coiled tight in my gut as a group of men led me down the hallway and informed me someone was waiting for me. The armed men flanking me left no room for resistance; their presence alone was enough to make that clear.
When they finally pushed me into the room, I immediately saw the man waiting, his face hidden beneath the brim of a hat, angled away from me.
"Hello, Mr. Frank," he greeted, his voice calm but cold.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" I demanded, trying to keep the tremor out of my voice.
"Leave us," he said to the guards, motioning for them to step out.
"Who are you?" I demanded again, my voice rising. "Show your face!"
The man chuckled—a low, dark sound. "You'd be wise to watch your tone, Frank. I have the authority to end your life right here."
