Chapter 50
Luciana's POV
I welcomed the day with high hopes. The sun peeked through the curtains as I mentally ran through my plans. First on my to-do list was a trip to the mall; our supplies were running low, and I needed to restock the essentials. It felt like a routine day, and I tried to stay positive, but something in the back of my mind was restless, as if I was bracing myself for something I couldn't quite place.
As I walked through the aisles, picking out the items on my list, a strange feeling crept up on me. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and I instinctively felt the presence of someone behind me. I turned, and there he was—Jacob Morgan. The man I couldn't quite figure out, whose motives were still a mystery to me.
