Chapter 44
Luciana's POV
I hurried through the dimly lit corridors of the old building, my footsteps echoing off the worn wooden floors. I reached Jack's office, my eyes scanning the room for any sign of him. Not finding him, I let out a soft sigh and turned to leave.
But just as I reached for the door handle, Jack stepped into the room, a stack of papers in his arms. My eyes lit up at the sight of him, and a mischievous smile played on my lips.
"Well, well, well," I teased, my voice filled with playful affection. "If it isn't my handsome husband buried in all these old documents. You know, you're much more interesting than those papers, Babe."
Jack chuckled at my teasing, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "I'm flattered, Luci."
"So what are these documents for? You seem to be so busy with work lately that you hardly have time for me," I feigned annoyance.
