Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

The sun hung high in the azure sky, casting a bright, warm light over the beach that had become their favorite training ground. The waves rolled in gently, a soothing rhythm that contrasted with the intensity in the air. Izuku Midoriya stood at one end of the makeshift arena, his green eyes filled with determination, while Amelia faced him from the other, her posture relaxed but eyes keen.

This was it—their final spar before the U.A. entrance exam. It was a chance to test their progress, to push each other to their limits. They had agreed to this match the day before, a culmination of months of grueling training and personal growth. There was also a playful bet: whoever won would get to choose an undefined favor from the other.

All Might stood nearby, observing with a proud, almost fatherly smile. He had seen them both grow immensely, their abilities sharpened, their spirits stronger. Today would be a testament to that journey.

"All right, you two," All Might called out, his voice booming over the sound of the surf. "This is your final test. Give it everything you've got, but remember, control is key."

Izuku nodded, a fire igniting in his eyes. "Yes, All Might!" He clenched his fists, feeling the familiar surge of One For All coursing through his veins. He had learned to channel 1% of its power consistently, a milestone that filled him with pride and anticipation.

Amelia stretched, her muscles rippling under her training suit. "Ready when you are, Izuku." Her tone was light, but her gaze was focused, ready for the challenge.

All Might raised his hand, then dropped it in a swift motion. "Begin!"

Izuku launched forward, his speed enhanced by One For All, a blur of green energy streaking across the sand. Amelia reacted swiftly, sidestepping his initial punch and countering with a swift kick aimed at his side. Izuku blocked, feeling the impact reverberate through his arm.

They moved fluidly, a dance of punches, kicks, and evasive maneuvers. Amelia's experience in combat showed in her precision and timing, her strikes landing with calculated force. But Izuku's raw power and newfound control over One For All allowed him to keep pace, countering her blows with surprising speed and agility.

Izuku lunged again, aiming a powerful punch at Amelia's midsection. She twisted, narrowly avoiding the strike, and countered with a low sweep that took Izuku off his feet. He tumbled but rolled with the momentum, springing back up with a determined look.

"Not bad, Amelia," Izuku panted, his breath coming in quick bursts. "But I'm not done yet!"

Amelia grinned, a competitive spark in her eyes. "Bring it on, Midoriya!"

Izuku focused, his mind racing. He had learned from their previous spars that direct attacks wouldn't work against Amelia's reflexes and strength. He needed to outthink her, to anticipate her moves.

He dashed in again, feinting a left hook before pivoting into a low kick. Amelia dodged, but just barely, her eyes widening in surprise at the sudden change in tactics. She countered with a swift jab, but Izuku caught her wrist, using his momentum to flip her over his shoulder.

Amelia landed with a thud, sand spraying around her, but she quickly rolled to her feet, her eyes shining with approval. "Nice move, Izuku!"

They continued, each exchange more intense than the last. Izuku found openings, moments where he could have landed a decisive blow, but Amelia's experience and adaptability kept her one step ahead. She anticipated his movements, using his own force against him, a testament to her battle-hardened instincts.

Finally, after a particularly grueling series of exchanges, Amelia managed to sweep Izuku's legs out from under him, sending him sprawling onto the sand. She stood over him, her breathing heavy but victorious, a triumphant smile on her face.

"I guess that's game," Amelia said, extending a hand to help him up.

Izuku took her hand, pulling himself to his feet with a grin. "Yeah, you got me this time. I'll get you next time for sure!"

Amelia laughed, clapping him on the back. "I'm sure you will. But remember our bet?"

Izuku's eyes widened slightly, a mixture of curiosity and nervousness flashing across his face. "Right. What do you want me to do?"

Amelia's smile turned mysterious, her eyes twinkling. "I haven't decided yet. I'll let you know when the time comes."

Izuku nodded, intrigued. "Fair enough. I'll be ready."

As they walked back to where All Might stood, the legendary hero beamed with pride. "Well done, both of you. You've come a long way, and I couldn't be prouder."

They spent the next hour cooling down, discussing the fight and sharing tips, their friendship deepening with each moment. The U.A. entrance exam loomed ahead, a daunting challenge that promised to test their resolve and skills to the fullest.
