Chapter 63 - Chapter 63

After Logan finished speaking, Grace couldn't contain her emotions any longer.

Logan's words were as sharp as a knife, showing no mercy just because Grace was a girl. Grace felt bullied and couldn't hold back tears, her eyes suddenly welling up.

Seeing Grace like this, Henry naturally didn't let her confront Logan again.

He stepped in for Grace, frowning at Logan. "Logan, as a man, can't you have a bit of grace? Your chickens are disturbing others' sleep, and they can't even complain? How can you bully a girl like this?!"

Logan sneered at Henry, "You talk about grace? Didn't you bully Sophia in the grove? If the village cadres find out about that, I wonder if you can still act high and mighty here. By the way, you may have thick skin, but I wonder about Sophia..."

As soon as he said this, before Henry could respond, Sophia's face turned instantly red.

The others naturally understood the implication in his words and all turned to look at Sophia.

Henry wanted to say something more, but Sophia pulled him back, stopping him.

She felt humiliated by Logan's remarks, but more than that, she was afraid. Afraid that Logan would really stir things up and cause trouble for her and Henry.

Logan was the type of person with a thin sense of humanity, capable of anything when upset.

Henry remained silent, Grace regained her fighting spirit without tears, ready to continue arguing.

But Lily also pulled her back, shaking her head and gesturing to stop her.

Seeing no one else speaking up, Logan smirked again and turned to enter the dormitory.

He grabbed his backpack from the dorm and headed straight out of the courtyard.

Summer had been waiting in the corner of the yard and hadn't come out.

Seeing Logan leave, she finally turned and came out, carrying her backpack to catch up with him.

As Logan and Summer's figures disappeared outside the fence, Lily held her breath and said to Grace, "We better not offend someone like Logan, or he might really put chickens in your bed."

With Logan gone, Grace became defiant again. "Would he dare?!"

Cecilia spoke up, "I think he's capable of doing such a thing."

Grace was furious. "Then I'll chop off his chickens!"

Lily looked at Grace seriously. "If you really chop off his chickens, are you not afraid he'll stand by your bed with a knife when you sleep? Can you still sleep then?"

Just imagining that scene was enough to be terrifying.

A chill ran down Grace's spine, and she slapped Lily on the back. "Why are you all so timid? There are ten of us. Can't we stand up to him?"

Lily said, "It's not about being timid, it's about not wanting to deal with someone like him. Someone with such a malicious nature, if he gets upset, who knows what he might do?"

Grace swallowed her pride. "Why are we so unlucky? Living through this tough life in the countryside is bad enough, and now we have to deal with him!"

On the other side, Sophia didn't want to hear anything more about Logan and had already turned back to the dormitory.

Everyone was in a hurry to eat and go to work.

The other people didn't linger to chat anymore, quickly washing up and heading to the kitchen to cook and eat.

Henry and Sophia's situation was actually known to the other eight young people.

The two of them had started getting close shortly after arriving in the countryside, so it was normal.

Therefore, they tacitly avoided mentioning this matter, also to save face for Henry.

But Sophia was still very worried.

She had intended last night to officially confirm her relationship with Henry and put her mind at ease.

But she hadn't expected Logan to stumble upon them and be so direct about it.

If he could say it in front of them today, who knew if he would say it elsewhere tomorrow.

On the way to work.

Sophia looked worriedly at Henry. "How did he see it? What should we do?"

Henry wasn't too worried. He comforted Sophia, "He said he saw it, so he saw it? What evidence does he have to prove he saw it? And what evidence is there to prove he saw us? He has a mouth, and so do we. I would say he's making up lies and framing us. As long as others come out to prove that we were in the dorm last night, it's his lie."

Sophia thought about Henry's words and gradually relaxed.

Indeed, last night Logan didn't catch them in the act, nor did anyone else see them.

He's just saying it as it is, right?

Sophia breathed a sigh of relief and nodded at Henry.

Henry smiled at her reassuringly, "Don't worry, whatever happens, I'm here."

Sophia was completely reassured now, smiling back at Henry.

On the way from the rural point to the school.

Summer walked beside Logan and said, "You're quite something, ten people couldn't argue with you alone, you've made them unable to speak a word."

Logan glanced at Summer, ignoring her words.

After thinking about it for a while, she spoke with some concern, "You might have stood up for yourself, but they have something against us raising chickens, and now you've argued with them. Do you think they might retaliate when we're not at the rural point and do something to our chicks?"

Logan wasn't worried at all. "They definitely won't dare touch my chickens. As for yours, I'm not so sure."
