She stood there at the entrance for what felt like an eternity, heart racing like it wanted to be ripped out of her chest. Her eyes scanned everywhere for any trace of Damon. If he was waiting around in a corner, she could just step back and be out of the door before he gets to her.
Simple.
The whole house was eerily quiet. Like no one actually lived here and it did nothing to calm her nerves. If she took a step, Damon could come for her. If she breathed too loudly, Damon would notice and come for her head.
If she blinked her eyes as much and opened them back, he would materialize in-front of her, and then it would all be over.
The girl instantly developed a choking fear for the demon. Maybe she would have been less fearful if she were going against a human and not a demon. It was much stronger and powerful than her weak self. She can't stand a chance against him. Which was so terrible and unfair.
