Ebony could not even focus at school anymore. Her body would be in class, but her spirit was somewhere else, wondering. Apparently, she was forced to resume school immediately and not given the chance to see where Hale was properly buried and pay her last respects to him. It all fell in place all in the name of 'getting her to move on with her life after his death.'
But god knows that her life stopped moving after she heard about his death. She did not have that peace of mind knowing fully well that Hale died without them making up and having the best last few moments as best of friends. It bothered her greatly that he died while revealing the truth about it.
And the devil himself was walking around the house, not remorseful about what he'd done to her. It was like he never committed such a crime.
