Two days after Hale's sudden death, Ebony still clung to the body, refusing to let it go and be buried like Rayven instructed that same night. Damon, Drain, and everyone tried to convince her to let Hale have his peace. Each time Ebony shook her head, she held him tight and begged them to give her the chance to wake her friend back from his sleep.
''Hale is a demon. He can't die, he is just sleeping,'' She tightened his hold around his body, pulling him closer to herself as Time stared at her swollen eyes in concern. ''Give him time, please. He would wake up soon.''
''Ebony,' Time said gently as he moved closer to her. The girl grew defensive and moved back with the body still clutched in her arms. Fearing, Time would try to trick her like the rest had done several times in the last two days to take him away from her and have him buried alive.
