Her heart slowed when she realized what she was doing. She froze in her movements to see the demon's face already close to her, golden eyes twinkling in delight at her closeness. Ebony brought her hands to herself, stepped back to look elsewhere but the demon. She was afraid she would look too embarrassed if they locked eyes again. She looked down at her feet and cleared her throat. She paused, allowing her racing hormones to settle, their chaotic dance triggered by their proximity.
