She watched the straight line of termites moving up the wooden walls of the common area with interest. She marveled at how they never strayed from their line sight and trust the one leading them inside the hole they made at a corner in the wall. Ebony smiled as each of them disappeared inside the hole one by one.
It must be so warm there.

The other children lounging behind her laughed as they made a clear hit on the side of her bald head with a medium-sized stone. Blood began to trickle down the side of her neck, followed by a searing pain that brought tears to her eyes. She bent her head and brought her frail hands in an attempt to shield her head from any more violent attack from her sisters.
